Jack and Jackie on their honeymoon
March 1959, Janet Auchincloss (Jackie’s half-sister) with Jackie and a candid group photo of Jackie and family seated at table.
“Fey”. That was Jack Kennedy’s immediate response when a reporter once asked him to describe his wife, Jackie, in one word.
Love it. In case you don’t know fey means wild or crazy acting

Every time we got off the plane that day, three times they gave me the yellow roses of Texas. But in Dallas they gave me red roses. I thought how funny, red roses — so all the seat was full of blood and red roses. - Jacqueline Kennedy

Jacqueline Kennedy is comforted by Burke Marshall, IBM Vice President and former U.S. Assistant attorney general, at Kennedy Airport on June 5th, 1968. Mrs. Kennedy was awaiting the arrival of her brother-in-law, Prince Radziwill, from London before departing on a chartered jet for Los Angeles to be near Senator Robert F. Kennedy (her brother-in-law) who was critically wounded earlier in the day by an assassin.
I’ve never seen this picture before and it just broke me…
Jackie + Miss Porter’s School
”Throughout its history, Miss Porter’s has tested girls’ personal fortitude in a variety of ways: through academic rigor, strict rules, and rituals designed to produce anxiety and intimidate. Whatever their problems, Miss Porter’s girls were expected to buck up, not to go crying home to Daddy. Think Jackie–charming, poised, cultured, and able to smile through her husband’s many infidelities.”
— Evgenia Peretz, “The Code of Miss Porter’s”
