I'm not really back (although I miss tumblr rp days greatly), but wanted to let all my old friends know nonetheless:

About a year ago I came out as trans. And a couple of months ago I was finally able to legally change my name, birth certificate and all.

You want to know which name I chose? Mark.

“Nh, that might be,” Wally shrugged with a nod. Maybe it was because he had all the time in the world. Or maybe it was because he respected other’s enough. Or too much?

He blinked at Mark’s comment about him, laughing a bit. “I dunno?,” he offered after a thought. “It’s hard to tell without giving everything completly away, now is it? I don’t know what some of my secrets you might consider dark. Or if any of them are dark. But I wouldn’t call myself inheretely good, that would be weird.”

Mark scoffed at that, part of his brain considering getting another drink. Just a beer, nothing fancy anymore.

“I don’t think admitting to one or two nasty secrets would give anything away, honestly. You’re a human after all, aren’t you?” He raised one of his eyebrows. “...or are you meta? Because in that case... human rules might not apply to you, who knows?”

Wally hummed at the question before slowly saying “I guess?” But he wasn’t so sure. “Dealing with you guys…I don’t know, it’s situational. Based on what you’re doing. If you’re just out there living your life and being a good citizen…why should I keep tabs on you?” 

“And what would knowing that get you? It’s not like I can’t run through the city and look everywhere within a reasonable timeframe, even with Bats trying to find the information I need. In the end, I’d only show up when there would be a need to. No need to invade that privacy further. I know, I wouldn’t want that.” And that was the gist of it. Wally based this on himself and he wouldn’t want people chasing him knowing where he lived.

Mark frowned at that. “Eh... I guess it comes with your... ability. Even when things get out of hand you’re still there on time...” He knew he would keep tabs on his enemies if he were in Wally’s shoes. Putting his chin onto one hand, Mark huffed and pouted a little, but obvious enough. “You’re really just a good guy, aren’t you? There’s no secret, hidden, dark side to you, is there?”

Both of Wally’s eyebrows went up at that. “That powerful? Best not to test it,” he said amused and and straightened his jacket a bit as well.

“Not entirely but I’ve been here a few times. I think there’s a cafe over there that’s quite nice. And they speak english too, for the tourists.” He motioned for the other to follow.

“The most powerful”, he nodded gravely and cocked his head.

Following Wally, Mark looked around this way and that, trying not to look like a tourist (which he did nonetheless). “The luxury! If you forewarn me next time I’ll study some phrases so we can order in their own stupid language. The French despise people who don’t speak French.” He scrunched up his nose.

“Why, is your accent that bad?” Wally grinned back at Mark before looking around. Surely around here somewhere there should be a nice little cafe that would offer them croissants and coffee.

“It sure is. Not every city has an Eiffel Tower like the one over there in the distance.”

“It’s actually perfect, of course. Don’t want to get you pregnant by just letting you hear it”, he chuckled and shove his hands into his coat pockets. He should have brought gloves!

Squinting at the shape in the distance, Mark gave a low whistle. “It’s been way too long since I saw anything other than dear old Central. You know your way around here, Red?”

Wally patted Mark on the shoulder and subtly glanced at him to see if he was alright, which he seemed to be.

Amused, he turned to the plaza ahead of them from the alley he had stopped in. “Don’t tell me it’s that one sentence from Lady Marmalade that everyone knows,” he deadpanned at Mark while walking out of the alley.

It would be a lie to say he was used to traveling like this, but he tried not to give away how his head was still spinning a bit. He’d be fine in a minute. Now he took the time to take a couple of deep breaths of the French air.

“Of course it is. Don’t make me say it”, he warned the Speedster with a grin and accompanied him down the alley towards the plaza. “This is Paris, I presume?”

He waited for Mark to be ready and stepped in closer to carefully pick the other up. “Good luck trying. If you con any more money, you might be paying for the food. I really don’t have much on me,” he laughed and winked at Mark before he suddenly zipped across the sea with the other.

A moment later they were in France.

“It was worth a try”, he smirked.

He blinked and - there they were. “If I knew we were going to get croissants and all that I would have polished my French skills”, Mark huffed as his feet touched the ground again. “All I remember won’t be of any use, at least not for ordering coffee and food.” Another smirk in Wally’s direction.

“Ugh, I wish I was,” he sighed dramatically. Only to nod.

“I will. It was my idea. You giving me the time of day is enough.”

“Well, I have the job idea ever for you then. Robbing banks isn’t that much work!”

Mark wrapped his scarf around his neck a bit tighter so he wouldn’t lose it on the way to France. The he held open his arms, ready to be picked up.

“Such a generous mood today - careful, or I’ll try to con more money out of you while were there.”

“Look, if we’re going for fresh coffee and croissant then there’s really only one place, yeah?” Wally grinned.

“I don’t really plan to stay there longer than an hour…maybe two. Depending on how fast you enjoy your coffee.”

“Now you sound like a snobby billionaire”, he scoffed with a grin.

“No socks then. And no wallet. You’ll pay, I take it?”

“Another one’s curse is another one’s…uh…whatever?” Wally offered with a laugh, not really sure how to adapt the saying to their current topic.

“Is it?” Wally tilted his head to the side for a moment, thinking about it, before shaking his head again. “I would feel weird, passing through streets and thinking ‘Oh wow, there lives Mardon’,” he admitted amused. “If I wanted to arrest you…well…I would go the official route via police or I would ask Batman.” And Batman finding your information…yeah….not even Wally knew what Batman knew about him specifically and that was weird.

“Yeah, something like that”, he snorted regarding Wally’s quote.

Giving his now empty bottle a rather sad look, Mark leaned back in his chair. “At least you have the decency to feel weird. It is really surprising nonetheless. Wouldn’t it be easier for y’all to keep tabs on us bad guys if you had these kinds of information?” Sure, if Batman was able to find out where he lived it was as good as knowing beforehand, in a way. Still... “If I was someone like you, I’d try to always know where my rogues are, I think. Doesn’t mean I’d go up to their windows and peek inside or anything like that”, he added quickly.

“Curse is a really harsh word for it…,” Wally trailed off amused, finishing his current sugary drink. It seemed Mardon was mourning Wally’s lack of ‘being able to get drunk’ more than Wally was.

Well, at least someone was affected by it. Wally grinnned along Mardon’s chuckle.

He didn’t hear what the other said to his bottle, but he did hear the next question. Amused, Wally tilted his head to the side, as if he had to think about it. “Mhh…no, not really,” he grinned. “I might keep taps on you for reasons but I don’t know where you live. There are some things that should be private, don’t you think? It would be kinda awkward, knowing your address.”

“I think it fits your condition perfectly. It is a curse”, Mark insisted with a little nod. The thing with the address surprised him quite a bit if he was being honest. Mark raised his eyebrows and made a little ‘huh’ sound. “I mean... that’s pretty nice? Surprising tho.” He scratched his neck, feeling the first bit of stubble returning. He had moved into a new apartment some time ago, but he would have bet it was common knowledge for the Super Friends. “I thought it would be mandatory for your kind to have this kind of information. What if you feel like arresting me all of a sudden? Where would you look for me?”

Wally just shook his head when Mardon asked him if he liked that too. It was better to not give the other any more ground to stand on with that topic, lest they would make it awkward. They had just moved past the sex talk.

Of course, Mardon decided to go on about it anyway. At first it was fine but when the other went on about a drunken night and maybe mistakes…well.., Wally couldn’t help but do some fake coughing with a faint blush. Thankfully, it was dark enough. “First of all, I can’t get drunk so…only you. And if we still manage to reach that kind of morning, well…then I would have some things to answer to,” he said amused and pursed his lips.

“But if you feel like getting drunk, go for it. I will dutifully get you home,” Wally grinned anyway.

“Damn, I keep forgetting that curse upon you...” Not getting drunk, no matter how much one drank... it was a horrible thought. “Well, at least I have an excuse then if anything happens”, Mark winked and chuckled. He was only joking, of course! Studying the redhead in the dim light made him huff softly. If he wasn’t the Flash, his mortal enemy, he would be charming him for real by now. Redheads weren’t his usual type, but Wally was looking pretty cute and Mark enjoyed the other’s wit and ability to give clever replies. There was a certain kind of playfulness between them - but that was probably due to the fact that they technically knew each other already, in some twisted way. “There are so nasty surprises hidden away”, Mark muttered against the opening of his bottle before taking his last swig and emptying it.

“You don’t even know where I live! ...or so you?”, he requested more clearly then, raising his eyebrows.
