Coop chuckles and shakes his head before saying in a humored tone. "Oh don't worry about that, you're not at all. I'm just an old man that's used to an easier way to get from A to B. I overestimated my hiking skills." He quickens his pace to catch up. "No, it's alright, we got this. Gotta get this old man in shape."

"oh my gosh, stop it uncle coop!" kat answered with a laugh. "i'm not as good with love as anyone else in this family," she admitted after a moment. "okay but---what if i've got these feelings and it just turns in to heartbreak or something? i'm not sure i'll be able to deal with that."

Coop smiles and shakes his head. "You love so strongly and purely. So you might be a bit of a late bloomer with the romantic side of love, and that's alright. That just means you are destined to find a love that is worth the struggles it took to get there and any that come your way after." He says in an encouraging tone, having full faith in his niece's abilities to find and maintain a beautiful and healthy love. "It's alright to be afraid of heartbreak, but don't let that stop you from taking the chance. Love, especially the beginning, where the love is pure and uncensored and raw, is worth the risk. And if it does turn the direction you hope it doesn't, love will still be there to help you get through it. We'll all be here for you, to hold you, listen to you, and help you to see a new path forward. And I'm sure this person will not abandon you just because you have love for them."

"really?" phoebe questioned, her eyebrows raising slightly. "have you been living here long?" she asked, feeling strangely curious about the man in front of her. "i just ask because there was some guy's stuff in my apartment and i wasn't sure if you knew who's it was?" she really had no idea and couldn't quite figure it out. "oh, yes, thank you." she held out a few bags for him to take.

He nods smiling. "I have. I just moved to a larger apartment." Coop responds before stalling and trying to look honestly surprised and glancing at her door. "Oh, I'm sorry about that. The movers must have missed all that. I'll get it out of your way as soon as possible." He assures her in a sincere and smooth voice. Smiling again as he happily takes her bags for her. "It's my pleasure."

"i mean---they're my best friend. i'll always love them regardless." the love kat felt for those she cared about ran deep. it was just a challenge when she might of had feelings for one of them that were not returned. "i don't know---it feels so complicated."

"I know you will. You've always loved so deeply and I've always been so proud of you for that and more Kit-Kat." Coop says with a proud smile as he looks at his niece. "Love is always complicated, beautiful and full of possibility that makes all the trials worth it. You know how many trials your Aunt Phoebe and I have been through. And yet all of the beautiful moments makes it all worth it."

"can i help you?" phoebe questioned the stranger, brows drawn down as she moved towards her front door. she fumbled with her keys a little bit, but was able to unlock the door. "are we neighbors or something?"

Coop was worried when he couldn't find Phoebe after the (what he called) the fake cupid cursed the party. Usually, all he had to do was think about her, and he'd be at her side; but it hadn't worked. Seeing her gave him such a sense of relief that it helped to damper the sting to his heart at her words. He gives her a friendly smile with a hint of coy mischief, hoping to inspire some curiosity in her. "We are. I just moved and wanted to come say hi and introduce myself. Would you like a hand carrying your things in?"

"there's nothing to tell," kat insisted as she looked over at her uncle. there was this part of her that whispered in her ear, telling her what was the point. even if she did have feelings, it wasn't like they were returned! "we are just friends. best friends. i would never want to jeopardize that."

"Sometimes that is the best type of love. Love isn't always romantic. Although it is hard if one has romantic feelings and the other doesn't; that love is still so beautiful and valuable to both parties." He knew his words wouldn't take the sting away if her love for her friend was unrequited; but he had hope that it would be encouraging in a way.

at her uncle's words she let out a 'pfft'. "what? no." she rolled her eyes---but really denial was a river. "that's super silly. they're one of my closest friends and that's it. duh. there is absolutely no way that i have a crush on them maybe."

Coop couldn't help but smile at her overwhelming denial. "Ah, I see." He quips a little bit between her sentences. Although he didn't like how tough it seemed on her right now, he was happy to see his niece feeling in love with someone she knew and trusted. "Maybe? What's scaring you from taking that next step to telling them?"

paige laughed at the compliment. "thanks! i love this kind of stuff." romance was totally her thing. at least dating and going out and having fun. she loved it all. "the night's been good so far. has yours been good?"

"Oh so do I, it is easily one of my favorite nights of the year." Afterall, he was a cupid who fell in love on the job. He had no reason to resent this day. "Oh it's been perfect. Then again, anytime I get an excuse to dance with my wife is a great one."

"nope. everything is totally fine, uncle coop." so maybe that was a bit of a lie, but she didn't want to admit that... too bad she did anyways. the terrible poker face she kept. "i'm totally not feeling jealous that my friend is here with a blind date. it's totally fine."

Coop can tell everything was in fact not 'fine' as it just sounded too insistent. He take a step closer and places a supportive hand upon her shoulder. "Your friend, would I be right to assume this is a friend you may have deeper feelings for?" He asks trying not to pry too deeply.

"hi uncle coop!" she greeted with a bright smile. "thanks! it's been okay? i think my blind date and i will be good friends." really she was trying to avoid the whole 'i'm jealous my friend is here with someone'e else feelings right now. not that she wanted to openly admit that.

"That's great, I'm glad you two are getting on so well. Love of friendship is so crucial to life." Granted, his own friendship circle was probably too small, mostly family. "Are you sure there isn't something else? You sounded a bit unsure when you said okay. You didn't get hit with that fake cupid's curse did you?"

"i think it's the light." phoebe joked as she glanced around, "it's just made me look all glowy in your eyes. or maybe you're sick. should we get your eyes tested?" she teased. "let's dance."

"It's definitely not the lighting, it's all you." He says with a happy smile and he chuckles at her continued tease. "Oh I'm fully infected with love and the only cure is every minute I spend with you." The cupid knew it was corny, but hey he was a cupid and this was Valentine's day so he felt it fit. Coop takes his wife in his arms placing a kiss upon her lips before taking a step back to offer his hand to lead her to the dance floor.

"Hey, Paige." Coop greets his sister-in-law as he walks over to her so they could hear each other better. Every time he comes across her, he can't help but wonder if she regained her memories. "i hope that you never have to lose me, but even if you did i just know we'd find our way back to each other somehow. i mean, i was already kind of falling for my cute neighbor and then it turns out that it's actually my husband." phoebe chuckled, shaking her head. she relaxed into his touch, drawing in a deep breath. "it's just.. i know this is a strange town and people don't really stay dead here, but it just never occurred to me that she would end up here. i want to see her, to fill her in on everything about our life, our family and everything, but i'm completely terrified at the same time."

Coop softly chuckles and hugs her a little closer. "Oh, I was head over heals for the beautiful woman down the hall. Never imagined I was so lucky for her to actually already be my wife." He says smiling down at her while enjoying the sight of her relaxing into his touch. "It's understandable not to expect her here. I hadn't either and now I'm thinking who else may show up one day." The Cupid leans his head down resting his lips upon the top of her head for a long moment as his hand moves in a comforting motion on her back. "You're not going to lose her again here, you have plenty of time to work through that fear. Go at your pace but don't close off your heart to everything you're feeling. Take it bit by bit and if you ever feel overwhelmed, I'll be right here to help you carry it."

"you are too nice, uncle coop. seriously." a small laugh escaped kat. it only served to solidify that she had the best family in the world and there was not a single thing that would change her mind. "don't worry, i know that. hence why you're secret is safe with me." she answered with a grin before giving him a hug back. it made her feel safe knowing she had family around to lean on. "oh nothing really. just school and hanging out with my friends."

"Nah, no such thing as too nice. You deserve the best of the best, especially when it comes to family Kit-Kat." He assures her with a happy smile and a happy chuckle when she jugs him back. Coop then listens to his niece and nods. "Sounds like you're settling in well. What's the most interesting thing you're studying right now?"
