Beyond the Sea by Emily S (week 24)
"Visiting my grandma's house was my favorite part about the holidays. Unfortunately, she lived three states over, so the holidays were the only time we could visit her."
"She's such a sweet, old lady. She's always making food as if she depended on it. Cookies, brownies, and cakes were just some of the things she'd make."
"Not only was she always cooking, but she always had her favorite music from her childhood playing. 'Beyond the Sea' by Bobby Darin usually was her song of choice."
"I never in a million years would have thought.. th-that.. she'd.. she would die.." I choked on my words. "I'm sorry, I can't continue with this."
The crowd started becoming emotional hearing my speech, but one man stood up and said, "How did she pass?" calmly as if he didn't hear the last thing I said.
I stared at him for a second and answered, "She was.. uh.. well, she was murdered."
"Did the cops ever find the person who did it?" he asked me.
I replied to his question, "No, they don't even have a clue who did it."
Soon after I anwered his question, the walls around me began to crumble as if the were so they could not bear their own weight. The crumbled walls faded away and the people began to fade as well. I felt my whole body shake from fear as I turn and saw the last thing remaining was the man who questioned me. He smiled in a sinister tone. He pulled out a knife and ran towards.
I sat up in a cold sweat and screamed as lpud as I could. *Gasp* "Oh, it.. it was.. just that stupid dream again. Oh, no... I probably woke up Mom again."
The door slams open, "Honey, are you okay?? What's wrong?" she says in a mad panic.
"Mom.. it was the dream again. I saw that man again... He had a knife this time." I answered
Mom relaxed. "Oh, dear, you know that it's just a dream."
"I know but it seems serious.. I think something's wrong." I tried to explain it to her. She's tried to help, but naturally as parents do, she made it worse. All of the best therapists and shrinks never did help. They only made me feel ceazy and gave me pills that never worked. Of course, the last thing I said to her will trigger the same thing she always says, 'Well, if you think you need help, we can find you someone to talk to.'
"Honey, if you need help, we can find someone who can help. Like, maybe a specialist." she said.
I got up out of bed due to the disbelief of the monotony of our conversations. "No, Mom.. I don't need that kind of help! We neeeeed to see Grandma. I think she's in danger. We should move her down with us."
Heyyy, guys. So, I am starting this story for awhile. It'll be short (maybe like 3-5 parts to it). After that, I promise I'll get back to my first Code Lyoko fan fiction, "One Long Summer." With all that, like, comment, and follow if you want to =)
