𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬: he came back home with his braids done thinking you'll love it but hmm... mid.
diego had been excited about this for an embarrassing amount of time.
he had spent nearly four hours sitting in a chair getting his braids done while occasionally looking at himself in the mirror and smiling like an idiot. every time the hairstylist showed him another section, he became even more convinced that you were going to lose your mind when you saw him.
if there was one thing you loved, it was playing with his hair.
he had already imagined your reaction: you were going to smile, tell him he looked handsome, probably kiss his cheek and take twenty pictures of him because that’s what you always did whenever he changed his hairstyle, saying that you loved him.
he opened the apartment door with the biggest smile on his face.
“baby?”
you were sitting on the couch watching a movie while scrolling through your phone.
you immediately looked up before smiling. “hi.”
“hi sweetheart.”
he took off his jacket and waited but you hadn’t noticed yet so he stood there for another seconds.
“do you notice anything?”
you frowned slightly before looking at him properly and your eyes landed on his braids almost immediately.
you had already decided to prank him before he even had the chance to speak so you tilted your head slightly.
“hmm.”
his smile faltered just a little as you pretended to think for a few seconds.
“it’s nice.”
nice? he had been expecting gorgeous. handsome. breathtaking, perhaps. like everytime he came home with his hair done. so nice was absolutely unacceptable.
“just nice?”
“yeah.”
“that’s it?”
“mhm.”
“do you not like them?”
you pretended to examine his face and hair very seriously. “they’re... mid.”
“mid?”
“solid six out of ten.”
“six? you rude!” his mouth fell open.
“maybe six point five because i like your face.”
“my face saved half a point?”
“yes.”
“i spent four hours getting these done.”
“that’s unfortunate.”
“unfortunate?”
you nodded sympathetically. “i would’ve asked for a refund.”
he immediately grabbed his phone.
“i'm going to do it.”
you burst out laughing at the horrified expression on his face and he stared at you.
“you’re lying,” he narrowed his eyes.
“about what?”
“everything.”
“what makes you say that?”
“every time you lie you smile like that,” he imitated you.
“i don’t.”
“yeah yeah, you do.”
you tried to keep a straight face for approximately two seconds before laughing again.
“it was not funny, i was about to cry,” he crossed his arms.
“no, you weren’t.”
“yeah, true. but i really thought i looked ugly.”
“aw,” you grabbed his face between your hands. “you look ridiculously handsome.”
;; at a party with his friends except that his girl bsf hate you angst && fluff
it had been your idea to go with him to this party. guéla’s friends had invited him to go out with all of them, telling him that you could also come if you wanted to. despite not being the biggest partier, you had accepted the offer.
as the two of you stepped into the building, his friends immediatly greeted the both of you, high fiving you and asking you two of you were.
suddenly, a voice called out your boyfriend’s name and you saw a girl running towards all of you.
“hey, how are you doing?” guéla leaned down, letting her hold his head in her hands as she greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. “oh my god it’s been so long! i can’t believe you finally came to one of these!” she replied excitedly, her hands grabbing his arm as she looked up at him with a big smile on her lips.
after a few minutes of small talk between the two of them, guéla turned towards you—who had been standing there the whole time—and introduced you to his friend. “she’s my childhood best friend! we’ve been friends for what? eighteen year?” when she glanced at you, you immediately noticed the expression on her face change, her smile dropped as she looked you up and down, before putting on another smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
“oh. you must be the girlfriend, right?” she crossed her arms, a hint of amusement in her eyes as she stared at you. “i like your dress, it’s. . . cute. it suits you." she tilted her head to the side, her smirk making you feel uneasy.
“oh uh, thanks.” you didn't really know how to respond to her, or even how to react. this whole interaction felt a bit weird.
“anyways. come on gué! let’s go get some drinks!” she turned to your boyfriend, her initial expression returning on her face as her hands grabbed his biceps, dragging him towards the bar.
laughing as she led him away, guéla quickly glanced back at you, making a small hand gesture signaling for you to follow them, before turning back and walking away with her.
when the three of you reached the bar, guéla ordered each of you a drink, before returning to his conversation with her. with his back now facing you, you felt even more uncomfortable than you already were, alternating between quietly fidgeting with your rings and bracelets and playing with the end of your hair.
“i’m gonna go to the bathroom real quick, you two stay here okay?” guéla leaned down to place a kiss on the top of your head before leaving the bar to walk towards the bathroom, leaving you and his friend alone.
not knowing what to say, you thanked the bartender once he gave you your drink. for a few minutes, you sipped quietly onto your drink as she scrolled on her phone, an awkward silence surrounding the two of you.
“so. . . what do you do for work?” you asked her, trying to start a conversation instead of staying in this uncomfortable silence. scoffing at your question, she turned off her phone and stared at you, her expression on of disinterest. “i work in a big compagnie, you know like a real, big, stable job.” she rolled her eyes before returning to her phone.
‘uh rude’ you thought as you glanced back to your drink, now anxiously fiddling with your fingers.
that’s when guéla came back to the bar, grabbing his drink and taking a large sip. immediately, she clang to him, her hands grabbing his arms as she excitedly talked with him.
this game of hers continued during the rest of the evening, purposefully excluding you from any conversation and staying glued to your boyfriend, cutting in every time you tried to talk.
that’s how—an hour later—you found yourself sitting alone at the bar, nursing on your second drink. she had dragged guéla away to talk to one of their friends and left you by yourself. you were really starting to wonder if coming out here had been a good choice. suddenly, guéla appeared besides you, ordering another drink for himself. when he turned towards you he immediatey noticed the sad expression on your face, his eyebrows scrunching in a frown.
“are you alright babe?” he sat down next to you, his hand covering your own. “uh yeah. . .” you mumbled, your voice barely above a whisper.
the frown on his face deepened when he heard your voice, noticing how your hand stayed into a fist and refused to intertwine with his. “no you’re clearly not.” his other hand grabbed the stool you were sat on, turning it so you would face him. “talk to me. please.”
a sigh escaped your lips as he turned you towards him, your eyes looking down. “it’s childish, really.” guéla stayed silent at your words, encouraging you to explain it to him. it wasn’t childish to him if it made you sad.
“it’s just—” you shook your head. guéla’s hand found your chin, tilting it upwards so that you would look at him. “i feel uncomfortable around. . . her. i feel like she doesn’t like me— and she’s keeping you away from me, like she doesn’t want you to talk me.” you admitted, your eyes glancing from his face to the ground. “and i know that she’s nice to you, but she isn’t with me, and i don’t know, i think i wanna go home.”
as guéla opened his mouth to speak, a high pitched voice called out his name “guéla! come on let’s go dancing!” she exclaimed as she tugged on his biceps, completely ignoring your presence.
“no, not right now.” the cold tone of his voice made both you and her freeze. her smile dropped immediately as she looked up at him in confusion. “what why?!” she glanced at him, and then at you as a scowl appeared on her face. “isthis about her? come on she doesn’t mind! you don’t mind right?” she didn’t even leave you the time to answer before speaking again “see, she doesn’t mind!” she tugged harder on his arm.
“i said no!” guéla raised his voice at her as he shook his arm free from her grip. “you’ve been disrespecting my girlfriend all night, clinging to me and just being a nuisance.” he exclaimed, stepping closer to you while still facing her. “leave her alone—better even, leave us alone!”
and on that he got out his wallet, paid for your drinks and his, before intertwining his hand with yours. “come on, let’s go home.” his tone was more gentle with you as he led you out of the building.
once the two of you stepped outside, you glanced up at him. “thank you, for standing up for me. and sorry for making you leave early” you spoke up, a small smile appearing on your lips. “don’t thank me, if someone is making my girl uncomfortable i won’t just stand there doing nothing. and i’m the one who should be apologizing, i shouldn’t have let her act like this—”
;; he tries spoiling you on the morning of your birthday as he should
you should've known letting guéla handle all of the breakfast preparation would be a terrible mistake.
when he woke you up as he tried to leave the bed, you had looked up in confusion, your hand grabbing his wrist as you stared at him with a puzzled frown on your face. he had only laughed at the expression on your face, tucked you back into the bed saying that he'd ‘handle it’ before pressing a chaste kiss on your forehead.
and yet here you were, twenty minutes later, sat up in bed and sighing as you smelled something sweet burning—accompagnied by a bunch of curses and the clicking of utensils.
still half-asleep, you got up from the bed, a hand ruffling your hair as you stepped toward the kitchen.
there, you saw a plate of burnt pancakes next a bowl of batter and guéla standing in the middle of the chaos, looking half-defeated. when he saw you approaching him he immediately rushed towards you, trying to block the scene from your eyes.
“babe, i’ve told you to stay in bed.” his hands found your waist as he tried to move you out of the kitchen. “guéla what’s that smell?” you asked, trying to peek over his shoulder at the same time.
“it’s really nothing, don’t worry your pretty head about it.” when the two of you finally reached the hallway he leaned down to plant a sweet kiss on your lips, making you automatically wrap your arms around his neck.
“hey, why don’t you take a shower—or bath, whatever you like best—while i fix all of this?” he proposed as he kissed the side of your face, right on your temple. “are you sure you can manage all this on your own?” you replied as you leaned back to look at him.
“of course, don’t you trust me?” he laughed at the look you gave him that screamed ‘no, absolutely not’ and let go of your hand—not before kissing you one last time—to rush towards the kitchen.
despite the sigh escaping your lips, a small fond smile appeared on your lips at seeing him so attentive and sweet to you. as you closed the bathroom door behind you, you peeled off your clothes and stepped into the shower, sighing in relief as cool water hit your skin.
thirty minutes after you stepped out of the bathroom, feeling completely clean and rested, and stepped towards the kitchen. your eyebrows raised in surprise at the sight in front of you—the kitchen was cleaned up, which looked a lot better than it did previously, and a plate filled with pancakes was placed on the kitchen counter, surrounded by bowls of berries, melted chocolate, whipped cream and even a glass of milk for him.
“tada!” guéla exclaimed as he saw you approaching, pulling out a bar stool chair for you to sit down. “i told you i could handle this on my own.”
you rolled your eyes at his comment, making him laugh, before sitting down on the stool. gently, you cut into one of the pancakes and brought the fork to your mouth.
“so, how does it taste?”!guéla asked as you chewed, leaning against the counter right next to you. “it’s really good!” you smiled up at him before cutting a piece out of the pancake and bringing it to his mouth. “thank you so much babe.”
nodding his head as he ate the pancake—proud of himself for the end result—he leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on your forehead. “of course, anything for my girl.” he then kissed your lips. “happy birthday.”

if i ever stopped writing for guéla @dixheuresdix would kill me LOLL, but yeah i’m thinking of maybe doing a pt2 to this (like their 1st date or smthing)
there was nothing in the whole world you loved more than just lounging by the pool all day, doing practically nothing. simply laying on a sunbed, tanning and reading your latest book, a sweet drink besides you.
but of course you could never truly be at peace with an hyperactive golden retriever for boyfriend.
“come on babe! the water’s warm!” désiré called out for you as he leaned against the side of the pool, looking up eagerly at you while droplets of water fell from his hair onto his face and arms.
he’d been begging you to go into the pool with him for what felt like hours—but was probably only thirty minutes. saying that he ‘missed you’ and ‘wanted to swim with you’.
with a sigh you closed your book and set it down—which made your boyfriend's smile grew even wider—along with your sunglasses and drink, slowly getting up from your well-deserved resting spot as you stepped towards the pool.
as soon as you stepped onto the pool’s steps, the water only reaching your navel, désiré wrapped his arms around your waist from behind you, pressing your back into his torso.
“dez, you’re all wet!” you whined as you tried to get out of his embrace, wiggling between his arms. “yeah, that’s what happens when you get into a pool.”
laughing as you rolled your eyes at his snarky remark, désiré unwrapped his arms to let you go, yet his hand still held onto your wrist, not wanting to let you go too far without him.
after a while of swimming around with your boyfriend, you moved towards the side of the pool, leaning your back against it, the water falling around your collarbone. quickly, désiré swam towards you, pressing his torso against your chest as he grabbed your hips to wrap your legs around his waist.
the two of you stayed there in silence for a bit, just enjoying the cool water around you, the small breeze that passed through the trees’ branches and the singing of birds.
“see? it’s much better when you’re with me.” désiré spoke up after a while, tucking a strand of your hair behind your ears.
‘mhm’ you agreed softly, your hands finding the back of his head and shoulders before dunking his head under the water, laughing at the expression of surprise on his face.

the door squeaked behind you as guéla shut it close with his foot, a tired sigh escaping him as the two of you stepped into his apartment. the both of you were just coming back from grocery shopping for his apartment when suddenly heavy rain came crashing down, soaking you two from head to toes.
stepping into his apartment, you mumbled a small ‘sorry’ as water dripped from your hair to the floor.
“don't worry about it.” guéla replied, grabbing two towels from a chair. “i’ll go get us some change, i have a few of your clothes here.” he reassured as he handed you one of the towels before disappearing down the hall.
with a sigh of relief, you grabbed the towel and tried drying most of yourself. as you shook the water from your hair, you glanced up at the couch to see désiré laying on it, a smirk on his lips.
“hey” he greeted you as you dropped on the couch, mumbling back a small ‘hi’ as you kept drying your hair.
after a few seconds of silence, the boy spoke up again. “so, guéla’s got some of your clothes here?” the smirk on his lips grew bigger with every word he said.
“uh yeah? i think i left some here a few weeks ago, why?” with a confused expression, you glanced back at the younger boy. “oh, for nothing don't worry.” désiré shrugged his shoulders as he glanced back at the tv. “it’s just. . . strange.”
“strange?” the frown on your face deepened as you eyes moved from the tv to désiré. “what do you mean by strange?”
“just that it's weird that you two still call yourselves ‘friends’.” a small laugh escaped him when he heard you mumble ‘not this again’ while shaking your head.
that’s when guéla came back from his room, dressed in more comfortable and dry clothes. “what are you guys talking about?” he asked as he handed you a shirt and some sweatpants.
“dez thinks that it's ‘strange’ that you keep some of my stuff here.” you sighed as you stood up, “when we're just friends.”
“ugh not this again.” guéla groaned as he gave a light slap on the back of his brother's neck.
“okay—but think about it!" désiré sat up as he looked between you and guéla with a smile. “first of all, you guys are always texting each other—and i mean constantly!” he pointed to his brother “you don’t even text me half as much as you text her.”
“yeah cause we’re friends.” you replied as guéla sighed behind you.
“yeah yeah—then you two have a lot of inside jokes that the rest of us don’t even understand! like sometimes you’ll say something that makes him laugh and none of us get it.”
“again, it's because we’re friends.” guéla said, shaking his head. “it’s stuff from old conversations we had or videos we’ve sent each other.” he explained as you nodded along with him.
“that leads me to another thing, you guys are always together.” this time désiré stared at you, “he walks you back to your house everytime despite living in the opposite side of the city!”
quite frankly, neither you or guéla knew how to answer that one and instead just stared at each other. fine the two of you were almost never seen without the other, but it's simply because you enjoy each other's company! it certainly wasn’t because of the tiny big crush you had on him.
“and,” of course désiré wasn’t finished. “you two are always touching each other—look you’re even doing it right now!” he exclaimed as he pointed at guéla’s hand—which was currently gently wrapped around your wrist.
you felt your face heat up in embarrassment as you glanced down at where your hand intertwined with his. when you looked back up you noticed that guéla was already staring back at you, a sheepish yet soft expression on his face.
feeling yourself burn you quickly let go of his hand and grabbed the clothes set out for you before rushing to the bathroom. guéla’s hand went to the back of his neck as he rubbed the skin there, giving another slap to his brother’s head with his free hand.
“you guys are so blind” désiré snorted as he gazed back at the tv, an amused expression on his face.
