Hi, I'm writing a fanfic 🥺
It's going to be about Bill and Jerry as a couple and main characters, plus in this AU Bill is trans, so I added more backstory, trauma, and my own projections, HAHAHAHA
Here's the prologue, and if you like it, you can check it out on Wattpad, maybe later Ao3 🩷

No... No huía, no era él, eran ellos, siempre eran ellos, tenían... Tenían que ser ellos.
Y entre todo ese arrepentimiento... Jerry.
Billie Valentine Dickey.
Y si no podia cambiar eso, entonces...
¿Para qué?

The air in the basement was always the same, heavy and stagnant, as if time stood still for everyone everywhere, except for that place.
Bill was on the sofa bed that was never quite a sofa, but never quite a bed either, a beer in one hand, a cigarette in the other. A sip, a drag, another sip, as if that were the only thing with a programmed rhythm here.
The calendar and the clock were foreign concepts to a place that didn't move forward; his day consisted of watching television, playing video games, reading comics, and leaving the basement only when he needed food or to relieve himself.
The background noise of the television no longer served its purpose, filling the void in Bill's mind. As he took another drag, a thought crept into his mind, "Why am I like this?" The answer was clear to everyone... except him.
His mind did what Bill never wanted to happen: remember. First awkward dates, then hands that moved too fast, laughter that suddenly turned too strained, bodies that didn't quite fit together when expectations were set. Apps open in the darkness of this place, messages promising something simple, normal.
But there was always that moment, that brief moment when his body... no longer felt like his own, when he had to expose himself, when he had to consent to something with someone else that he himself didn't allow himself to enjoy, and then came the collapse.
"Let me go!" "I'm not going to be what you expect," "Slut."
And in that moment he ran... No... He didn't run, it wasn't him, it was them, it was always them, they had to... It had to be them.
And amidst all that regret... Jerry.
Hands held in silence, sleepovers, gazes that lingered too long, breaths mingled, "I'll always see you as a man, Bill," and then... Distance.
"What was the point?"
He'd tried college and given up, tried a job and given up, tried testosterone until his mother's words became a constant drone in his head: "disgusting," "change," "mistake," and then he gave up on that too.
He tried things, plans, versions of himself that didn't last, and each time he failed, he didn't call it a "failed attempt," he called it "another entry on the list."
Because for Bill, his life wasn't life anymore, it was just a list, an endless list of mistakes and an identity that wasn't his, one that, according to him, would continue until the day he died... Billie Valentine Dickey.
And if he couldn't change that, then...
What was the point?
