The Beginning to a New Side
Holy crap. 5 years later and here I am. Contemplating what’s next in my life more than ever.
These past few years have been nothing short of interesting. I have gone through the biggest ups and downs, my biggest life lessons. My more recent ones now leading me back to looking at a blog full of who I use to be. Reading these posts from so long ago really make me realize how much I have changed. Some for the better, some not. The better side being that I have grown and matured drastically, experiencing so much real life. The not being that I’m no longer nearly as spontaneous, driven, artistic, and diverse like I use to be to name a few. So what has happened these past 5 years that have taken those attributes away from me?
I can dwell and ponder on the past but I can only do it for so long before getting angry with myself (which I won’t allow right now). For example, in my posts I was giving myself the same advice that my now more mature self would have taken and applied without a doubt. It’s like I was young and dumb, but I wasn’t dumb enough to give myself mature advice, I was dumb enough to not trust myself, my intuition, my own advice. I knew what it was and wasn’t but I still put myself through bad situations. Mostly in my romantic relationships (the two that I had in those years). But have the times even changed? Maybe I’m just older but still making the same mistakes in a more mature form.. hm.
Well, now I’m back here blogging. I think that what I’m currently going through and more specifically what I have been through this past year deserves a spotlight. Not only do I think this will be healthy for me, but I believe that through my real life stories, knowledge gained from mistakes, and experiences.. I can help others, and helping others has always been important to me. Motivating, inspiring, pushing people to be there is best, it’s something I’ve always enjoyed. Most importantly I want to share these things because I think it could save someone from going through similar things. Or to those currently going through the same things to know that they are not alone. That there is someone out here that understands and can relate. Let’s also not forget about all the nosey people who will be reading my blogs for there own entertainment. Which is fine too, whatever I can do to brighten someone's day or give them something interesting to talk/think about, ha.
So cheers to a new beginning, to finally facing my issues, trying something new and not only making a difference in my life, but hopefully others too. You may not understand what is to come and that’s ok.. I’m not even fully sure if I’ve wrapped my head around it either.

I've really been working on expanding my style in dance. Trying new things to discover what really stands out for myself as a choreographer. Hope you enjoy what I have to offer! Share with your friends and subscribe! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR! <3

I saw someone post on their Facebook " I'm gonna kill myself if I see another cover of the cup song." My question for him..how you plan on doing it cause here's the one your gonna kill over. *jokes* I'm a dancer, choreographer, and a writer not so much a singer y'all., I did this just to piss someone off and because I was REALLY bored. THE CIERRA LAUREN RENDITION OF "The Cup Song" Enjoy haha
PLEASE READ & REPOST: Love for Artists
This is so important for not just artists to read, but EVERYONE.
"Musicians, Dancers and Actors, are some of the most driven, courageous people on the face of the earth. They deal with more day-to-day rejection in one year than most people do in a lifetime. Every day, they face the financial challenge of living a freelance lifestyle, the disrespect of people who think they should get real jobs, and their own fear that they'll never work again. Every day, they have to ignore the possibility that the vision they have dedicated their lives to is a pipe dream. With every note, they stretch themselves, emotionally and physically, risking criticism and judgment. With every passing year, many of them watch as the other people their age achieve the predictable milestones of normal life - the car, the family, the house, the nest egg. Why? Because Actors, Dancers, Musicians and Singers are willing to give their entire lives to a moment - to that melody, that lyric, that chord, or that interpretation that will stir the audience's soul. Actors, Dancers, Singers and Musicians are beings who have tasted life's nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another's heart. In that instant, they were as close to magic, God, and perfection as anyone could ever be. And in their own hearts, they know that to dedicate oneself to that moment is worth a thousand lifetimes."
If you didn't understand before, now you do. We don't live for the typical lifestyle or materialistic things. We live for a passion and for that passion to be shared.
This. Is. Awesome. #fpsf #passionpit

About to be teaching in this gigantic place today. First time teaching on a stage, should be interesting. Excited to see how these dancers in New Mexico get down!
To all aspiring dancers
Dance is not for slackers. Dance is not for lazy people. Dance is not easy. If you are choosing to take this passion as a career but cannot handle the hardship of an auditioning process, I have to say that you're choosing the wrong career. This field we're in is a field of competition. What kind of competition you choose to see it as is up to you, but just know that every dancer who truly wants it is looking to take the next big thing.. whether that be your spot or someone else's.
With that said, do not be discouraged if you are not "chosen" to be in a piece on your performing team. Do not be discouraged if you are not booked after an audition. This is a sign that you simply just need to push yourself even harder. And even in some cases it doesn't always mean that you did bad, keep in mind that every choreographer, creator, director ect. is looking for something SPECIFIC. Anything from your look to the way you dance. And with THAT said, do not complain about it! Stop being so negative and change it! If you want to be picked it's in YOUR hands. Take class. Work on your freestyle. Stay focused and NEVER get comfortable. You think you're the sh*t well you're probably not because people who have attitudes like that get no where and stop progressing.. so start pushing.
End rant.
Cierra Lauren Choreography | Ruff Ryders’ Anthem - DMX (x)
This is the last piece I learned from Cierra before she left back to Houston. I wish I had taken the last class that she actually taught but I was injured so I couldn’t. Anyways, I gifed all of my absolute favorite parts and I really hope that I can take class from her in the future when she’s even more big and famous. ♥
