This is so important for not just artists to read, but EVERYONE. 

"Musicians, Dancers and Actors, are some of the most driven, courageous people on the face of the earth. They deal with more day-to-day rejection in one year than most people do in a lifetime. Every day, they face the financial challenge of living a freelance lifestyle, the disrespect of people who think they should get real jobs, and their own fear that they'll never work again. Every day, they have to ignore the possibility that the vision they have dedicated their lives to is a pipe dream. With every note, they stretch themselves, emotionally and physically, risking criticism and judgment. With every passing year, many of them watch as the other people their age achieve the predictable milestones of normal life - the car, the family, the house, the nest egg. Why? Because Actors, Dancers, Musicians and Singers are willing to give their entire lives to a moment - to that melody, that lyric, that chord, or that interpretation that will stir the audience's soul. Actors, Dancers, Singers and Musicians are beings who have tasted life's nectar in that crystal moment when they poured out their creative spirit and touched another's heart. In that instant, they were as close to magic, God, and perfection as anyone could ever be. And in their own hearts, they know that to dedicate oneself to that moment is worth a thousand lifetimes."

If you didn't understand before, now you do. We don't live for the typical lifestyle or materialistic things. We live for a passion and for that passion to be shared.

What's Real?

My first spoken word in a while. Of course these are hard to read because slam poetry is about performance so the rhythm of this can be easily misconstrued. Hopefully you enjoy it for what it is..

The spaces between your fingers were created so that another’s could fill them in

I’m starting to think I was given nerves to feel and touch the texture of your skin

I’m grasping these moments that have seemed to fall into my hands and dont want to let them go

It’s like a race against time will I win or will he go?

Does he know

That I’m developing emotions that are far from emotion

So out of this world they’re not even emotions

The motions

Of his body

I crave it.. I embrace it

Just tell me he’ll stay

I mean were meant to be

Not like two peas in a pod but like Adam and Eve

Now this is what I’d say..

Ok so I like you a little more than I originally planned

But this is my future and I’m more than just a fan

I just want to hold you kiss you love you for as long as I can

And I know that forever can’t be a plan because every feeling falls into place

Always when it’s not staring at us in the face

But the best things happen unexpectedly

And your far from a tragedy

I’m madly

Madly infatuated

With every detail that creates.. you

They say to never give up on the things that make you smile

Well you sure know how to give this girl a grin

I might do a dirty deed but never a sin

Head over heels?

Is that what this is?

I’ve never felt anything like this

Pinch me

Grab me bite me slap me kiss me touch me

Like this..

Now I’m just going on a tangent

So I’m going to break this down lightly..

Your the person I want to be with right now, next year, daily, and nightly

So I just want to know if you feel the same way

Will you get down on one knee or will you just ask me to stay

Whatever it is I’m just happy to be in your life

But ultimately I want to be someone’s wife

Probably yours but I dont want come on too strong

We’re still young

And forever could never be long enough

But time will tell

We will see..

Will things fall into place or is this just another fantasy?
