Sydney was slowly adjusting to life at the underground. It wasn’t the cheery, free atmosphere she preferred, but it was safe -- much safer than home. She missed her parents dearly, but she did have Nevaeh. And she’d made a few friends too; even if Owen and Farrah hadn’t been seen as of lately. It was one of those dreary, rainy days though when no one wanted to go outside; Sydney stayed in her bed reading for a while, but really wanted the company of her best friend. She badly needed those cuddles and comfort. Everything was piling onto her emotionally. Nev wasn’t there when she got to the room, so Syd made herself comfortable in her bed, legs stretched out as she continued to read. She kept peeking over her book, a gentle smile gracing her lips when she finally spotting Nevaeh coming her way. “Feel like sharing for a bit?” she flirted.
