Brian was my squad leader in Iraq and my roommate in Harlem during college. Today he married his best friend at a greenhouse in Philly. ❤️🎩🍾

I attended a journalism workshop taught by several of the best military writers and photographers in the field. We discussed visual storytelling, news worthiness, interviewing tactics, portraiture, visual variety, sequencing, toning, digital workflow, and how to apply them to photo stories and photo essays. Here are a few selects and out takes from the day I spent with Tyheim who describes his childhood as a difficult one. His mother, 15 when she found out she was pregnant, would lose him to the foster care system for a short time. Tyheim's passion for Culinary Art, gourmet meals and a fondness for his grandmothers cooking has earned him the title of Sous-Chef at the MGM Casino who splits his time between D.C. and Maryland shopping for fresh seafood and ingredients.
