PERFECTION
My heart wasn’t shattered but my ribcage was; Leaving the most fragile part of me to endure suffering until the pain becomes the norm and i can no longer feel anything. Then nothing is your only emotion. Only then is your heart truly broken.

When Emotions are Your Trigger
New blog posted! See how i draw based on my mood.
I don’t know if this applies to many other artists; but when it comes to my artwork, especially when different genres are in play here, what I create is mostly based on my emotions. It sounds weird to think about, I will admit. Then one day I’m going through all my sketchbooks and every page with my drawings had something that is barely similar to the next. I would find one page with sketches of…

At the beginning of April, I will be going in to have laser eye surgery done. I went in earlier this week for a consultation. They examined my vision, the thickness of my corneas, and the overall health of my eyes. Like my brother, who had it done over a month ago, I am the perfect candidate for LASIK blameless surgery. I have to thank my folks for giving me really thick corneas.
This is going to be the most convenient procedure that I’m going to have done. Getting my vision corrected is very much needed with my active lifestyle.
Why am i doing this? Because I need to.
As a child, I absolutely hated wearing them. Not a day went by without my classmates teasing me for having these metal frames on my face; frequently being called ‘four eyes’, hearing whispers while being stared at. I remember the day I went to have my vision checked and found out that I was near-sighted and needed glasses. I was so mad, I didn’t even want to pick frames. I was hoping that nobody at school would notice, until my teacher pointed them out and started asking about them. Then I heard the giggles.
I was told a year later about contact lenses and I wanted to give that a try, anything to keep my glasses off my face. I even spent a day at school NOT wearing my glasses because I was tired of being made fun of. So the whole day was literally a blur for me. The only time I would have them on would be to copy anything that my teacher was writing on the board.
I will be honest, the contact lenses were such a hassle and taught me how sensitive my eyes are. The first mornings, I had to have my mother assist me with putting them in. But it was really worth it. I felt so much better about myself and it has made life so much easier, though sometimes I would (out of habit) be touching my face thinking that my glasses are falling. I wore contacts all the way to my high school graduation but not as much during college. The only time I’d wear my glasses would be at home to let my eyes get some air. By the time I entered college, I really needed new frames. I decided on large thick black frames; I guess you can say they were ‘hipster’. I tried them and loved how they looked on me so I enjoyed wearing them. I wasn’t judged at all (because come on, we’re in college). Then due to my change of lifestyle, having both glasses and contacts have been in the way of my interests and activities.
My brother recently gets laser eye surgery and spoke highly of the procedure. Then a short time after, one of my activities resulted in my expensive frames breaking in half. I got fed up and decided I need to do the same thing. Before I went to my consultation, I had to wear my contacts for two weeks straight. Since my frames were broken, I couldn’t wear them at night so I’d have my vision blurry all night until I went to sleep. I am currently wearing the least expensive temporary frames for two weeks until my surgery day. I am not ashamed to say that on the day of, I will be bringing my oldest teddy bear with me.
I am nervous but really excited to get it done. I’m just tired of having metal or plastic cause painful dents on the bridge of my nose. I’m tired of having makeup get onto my contacts, irritating my eyes, my eyes drying out all the time. I don’t want to have to worry about my glasses falling off and breaking all the time. I’m tired of having to pay so much for eye exams, changing lens prescriptions for glasses and contacts. I’m just tired of having poor vision.
So I am finally doing something about it.
My very last pair of frames.

Mixed Feelings on Makeup
I just posted a new blog on my site. Personal this time on my feelings of makeup.
I am a little biased when it comes to wearing makeup, but overall personally not a huge fan of it. But like most women, I will use it if needed. But since when is having to wear makeup necessary? The only times I do use makeup is for special events like photo shoots, promo events, gatherings, or if I don’t think I look pretty that day. On the days when I don’t feel pretty without makeup, I would…

Joining a Photography Club
I posted a new blog on the benefits of being part of a photography club. Take a read!
This was my first being a member of a photography club. At first, I joined for the fun and giggles. But then when we had a meetup planned and I decided it’d be interesting to see what actually goes on at these meetings. The meetup was at a rented studio in Norwalk, CT. Lights everywhere, large backdrop, photographers and models doing their thing, learning new skills and camera settings. I really…

My Steps to Weight Loss
If anyone would like to know how I work to lose weight, you can find out in my newest blog.
You may not believe it, but there is such thing as an unhealthy vegan. I unfortunately happen to be one of them. I will from time to time go through a week of eating PB & J’s, Vegan pizzas, mac and cheese, dairy-free ice cream, even spaghetti. And during these times, I could be too tired or lazy to even want to run or workout. But when I feel I need to lose a few pounds and slim down, for myself…

How long has the hoop been around?
I posted a new blog about the history of Hoops. Even I was amazed from what I learned.
I’ve had an interest in the art of hooping for quite some time now. I personally see it as a form of art therapy, especially while I have music playing and I can express myself solely by movement.  For others, hooping can be used for other reasons; whether it be for weight loss, health benefits, or just to have fun. You see hooping done almost everywhere now. There are even special events that…

My Favorite Celebrities
I am giving you readers a look at some of my very few favorite celebrities.
You see a lot of people nowadays trying to imitate or adopt the styles of someone they consider a role model or an idol. It can be a model, an actress, a performing artist, etc. These are a select few of my role models. Audrey Hepburn Audrey Hepburn I’ve always loved her and her classy styles; she just always looks perfect, becoming one of the most photographed women of all time. This is the…

My artwork
I posted a new blog about some of my favorite works of art.
Drawing is something I’ve been doing ever since I can remember. If you’ve read one my previous blogs, you’d see that I am what most people would say ‘multi-talented’. It started as a fun hobby as a child then I eventually start taking Visual Arts classes at my college. I thought I’d take some time to show you readers another one of my talents. This photo below is a drawing I made for one of my…

Here's how I ready myself for a Photo Shoot
It is without question that models need time to prep themselves for a shoot just as photographers do. I personally require to schedule shoots no less than a week in advance. Some models are more or less. This gives plenty of time to prepare yourself, your wardrobe, and any other necessary items. Some of us like to do some research on our photographer if it’s your first time working with them.…

What to bring to a Photo Shoot
New Blog about what to bring to a photo shoot.
Lip Balm : You will need to keep your lips moisturized almost constantly. Modeling in most cases is like acting so it requires a lot of face movement or even speaking to get the right face shot. This can make your lips dry out very quickly. Sneakers or any Comfortable Walking Shoes: If the location of your shoot requires a lot of standing or a taking a long walk on a trail or adventuring…
