"2022 Final View" (As we come to an end of our consideration of the world today and its dominating rays, working through the nations and conditioning the people, there is a final point which I would like to make; it lies in the realm of religion and concerns the significance of Christmas. "Stars Seem" (During this final week of 2022, we can observe what I would call "The Christmas Sky." In many ways there are signs of the holiday season in our current evening sky. "Occulted Oracle" (Whatever may have been the reason December 25th was chosen, it is certainly appropriate from an esoteric point of view. Various theosophists have written extensively on the subject. For one thing, associating the birth of a world teacher with the rebirth of the Sun (symbolic of our spiritual Self) relates Christianity to the esoteric doctrine of the descent of the Second Person of the Trinity into matter to begin the long evolutionary journey of unfolding consciousness in ever more sophisticated forms, each solar system, presided over by a Logos, recapitulating the cosmic event. It is also claimed by some psychics that there is a special outpouring of energy upon the world at this time (cf. Dora van Gelder [Kunz], The Christmas of the Angels, 1960). Leadbeater further states that the story of wise men being guided to the birth place by a star is symbolic of an event in the expansion of consciousness, called the First Initiation, when humans begin to develop their inherent spiritual powers. It is said that a star appears in the psychic realm over the initiate’s head at that time. The Magi could represent either the acknowledgment of the new initiate by other initiates or possibly, considering them and their traditional gifts metaphorically, the purification of the vehicles of the initiate’s personal consciousness (myrrh for physical, frankincense for emotional, gold for mental). Thus, Christmas is related to the Initiatory cycle, sometimes called the birth of the power of universal love. "Sol Stops" (The exact date of Jesus’ birth is a matter of debate, but it is generally acknowledged that it was not on December 25th. That date was most likely adopted, according to documentary evidence, in 336 CE (or 354 CE in the Christian Almanac). The choice of that date was, according to Gibbon (Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire), made by early Christians because it coincided with the Roman festival celebrating the Brumalia or Birthday of the Unconquered Sun in honor of Bacchus, and thus enabled Christians to avoid attracting unwanted attention to themselves, and very likely persecution. In the Julian calendar, December 25th was reckoned to be the actual date of the winter solstice. It has also been pointed out that the birth of Mithras and Horus was celebrated around this time, further relating it to the rebirth of the Sun god. "Juggsie Guy" (Christmas is a Christian festival, presently celebrated on December 25th and commemorating the birth of Jesus, called Christ. It is the most popular festival in the Christian calendar, and has become increasingly secular over the years with customs, such as decorating a fir tree, drawn from pagan sources. "Ron & the Bon" (Bon, indigenous religion of Tibet that, when absorbed by the Buddhist traditions introduced from India in the 8th century, gave Tibetan Buddhism much of its distinctive character. The original features of Bon seem to have been largely magic-related; they concerned the propitiation of demonic forces and included the practice of blood sacrifices. Later, there is evidence of a cult of divine kingship, the kings being regarded as manifestations of the sky divinity (reformulated in Buddhism as the reincarnation of lamas); an order of oracular priests (their counterpart, the Buddhist soothsayers); and a cult of the gods of the atmosphere, the earth, and subterranean regions (now lesser deities in the Buddhist pantheon). Located on the easternmost edge of the Sirkeci peninsula in which the city is located, it housed an imperial palace, arsenal and several churches and charitable establishments throughout the middle and late Byzantine periods. The origins of the Mangana Tower remain unclear. However, to understand why the so-called "God particle" is so crucial, and why so many scientists are celebrating, you must understand where it came from. The Higgs boson is often called "the God particle" because it's said to be what caused the "Big Bang" that created our universe many years ago. "Saturns Soul" (Many Cancers no matter how old they become are still attached to their primordial watery roots and never quite break away from the psychological and physical bonds they have with their mother, family and early conditioning circumstances. This would also tend to be the case when the Moon is conjunct the Ascendant in any sign or the Moon is in Cancer in the natal chart. Until the force of the personality fully individualizes in Leo (see next month’s article), Cancer will find that the urge to retreat back into the watery protectiveness of the mother’s womb will be as strong, if not stronger than, the urge to be separated from this primordial matrix into the fire of a self-actualizing individual. Esoteric astrology teaches us that the Moon represents mass consciousness. This is the energy that people experience when they go to a huge rock concert or sporting event, when the focus of individuality is given over to intensified emotional energies existing in such public circumstances.
