Drunken (K)nights
Drunken (k)nights
They started as a bit of fun, And me trying to fit in
At first I may have been unsure, But I grew to love my drunken nights for all they were
Pure, young, innocent, exhilaration coursing through our veins, staring up at the shining stars- oh so bright
All the memories made never to fade
And I’ll never regret my drunken nights, But I do regret yours’
Your drunken nights caused you to forget that there is a girl who is already yours (who already calls you home)
And when you did remember the night ended with a hole in the wall and you saying that I didn’t count
Well that seems contrary to what I heard you tell them…
That you loved me
So, as your once friend I ask you this: how did I break your heart when all I did was be your friend?
Because you exhausted mine with your drunken nights
No, I never loved, never even particularly liked you, but you were a friend
Well, you will never be my drunken knight
We happened to be friends but it seems your drunken nights brought that to an end
So I will continue with my drunken nights
Yes, I will continue with my pure, young, innocent, exhilaration
My foolish before and after pics, my getting even, betting on pong gamed with kisses, all the 3a.m McD runs, my nights of fun with friends… my drunken nights
My drunken nights without you
They started as a bit of fun and me trying to fit in, But I grew to love my drunken nights for all they were
I love my drunken nights for all they are, All they are without you
P.S. Might I just add that I was right about the skew roads and no I do not want to hear you apologize because you never apologize right and trust me I was one of the first to figure out that you lied
You will never be my drunken knight
