I am...me

About the piece: This tumblr account contains photographs from the performance piece "I am...me." In this piece, a person wears a dry erase board and asks others to write on the dry erase board. Everything written on the dry erase board must be in the form "I am (something). (Do something to) me." Every time a new phrase is written on the board, a photo is taken. About the artist: My name is Jacob Rath. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and am part of a family of artists. I am a recent graduate of Macalester College, with a Double Major in Art and Math. As an artist, I like creating interactive art, but also enjoy working in fibers, sculpture, and performance. Aside from art I like exploring urban areas, Scrabble, and cats. This is my friend Jay. He is currently a graduate student at Cooper Union. He's been a tremendous help with the I am...me project. He was the photographer for most of the photographs taken on the High Line. Here he is on the other side of the camera.
