Carry Me
Logan made sure the hallway was clear before slipping into Remusâ bedroom, locking the door behind him, and watching Remus pacing the room. Heâs learned most of Remusâ anxious habits by this point. Chewing on his fingers was common, but he also fidgeted a lot with random items whenever there was too much going on in his head. Right now he was rearranging the collection of figurines on top of his dresser. There was never a method to how they were displayed, just whatever felt right in that moment so the way he kept going showed that a right feeling just wasnât happening.Â
âRemus?â Logan spoke softly, not wanting to accidentally spook him in case he hadnât registered his presence yet. His point was proven when Remus continued his arranging and talking to himself under his breath. âRemus?â Logan tried again, placing a hand on Remusâ wrist. Remus tensed up, looked at the hand, and relaxed the second he recognized who was with him.Â
âHey, LoLo. Did you finish eating?â Remus seemed to be trying to shove down whatever emotions he was feeling before. Logan hated when he did that, it never ended well and he knew it hurt Remus more than it did any good.Â
âWhat did Adrien talk to you about?â Logan ignored Remusâ question and asked his own instead, still remembering the earlier anger toward the older man. He saw the remnant of that anger flash in Remusâ eyes before he shook his head in an attempt to make himself forget it.Â
âItâs nothing.â Remus tried to slip away but Logan caught his hand.Â
âRemus. What did he talk to you about? It must have been something very upsetting for you to be like this. Let me help.â Logan waited as Remus paused and had that previous conversation replay in his mind, jaw clenching and he deeply inhaled through his nose.Â
âAdrienâŚâ Remus blew a raspberry as he tried to find the words. âAdrien basically suggested having you and Patton leave.â Saying that out loud brought all of that rage back. âHe blamed me for Remy getting shot and said that I lack focus and having you two around is whatâs causing that problem. Fucking prick wouldnât know friendship or love if it bit him in the ass.â Remus spat the last part. âI know I shouldnât get so worked up over this, itâs stupid but I justâŚâ He ran his hands through his hair. âGod, I want to just break something every time I think of his stupid face saying his stupid words. Just the idea of losing you has me wanting to set the world on fire.âÂ
âIâm not going anywhere.â Logan adored Remusâ passion and he knew he meant it when he said heâd set things aflame for him. He placed his hands on Remusâ shoulders, pulling him close. âYouâre never going to lose me, you know that. It would be illogical for me to leave.â Logan chuckled when his comment got Remus to smile.Â
âThatâs a fair point.â Remus sighed. âI might go to the gym real quick and get this stuff out of me.âÂ
âI have another idea.â Logan took Remusâ hands and guided him to hold his waist. He then wrapped one of his own arms across Remusâ shoulders and placed a hand on his chest, leaning in close. âUse me.âÂ
âUse you?â Remus echoed. âYou mean-hold on, I donât want to hurt you.â
âYou wonât or at least you wonât in a way I donât want.â Logan was feeling confident and Remus felt his heart flutter.
âI love you,â Remus said before catching Logan in a kiss.Â
x~x~x The next morning for Patton and Janus was disrupted by heavy knocks on the door, the knocking insisting until Janus finally reached it, hair a mess, shirt missing, and looking pissed at being woken up. It was a rarity for him to sleep in but whenever he did everyone knew to leave him alone.Â
âWhat?â Janus practically hissed.Â
âIf you are all insisting on having Patton be in the kitchen, the least he can do is keep it clean,â Adrien stated, unaffected by Janusâ annoyance.Â
âIs everything okay?â Patton came to the door, wearing Janusâ missing shirt.Â
âGlad to see where your priorities are, Janus.â Adrien huffed while Patton shrunk away to hide most of himself behind Janus. âThe kitchen is a mess.â He stated to Patton.Â
âIâm sorry. Iâll get right on it.â Patton looked down at the ground as he spoke.Â
âFeel good about yourself? Weâll take care of it, you can go.â Janus wanted to slap Adrien for upsetting Patton but neither of them had been awake long enough for that much drama.Â
âIf there is a job, it is to be done properly.â Were Adrienâs parting words as he went away.Â
ââIt is to be done properlyâ,â Remy repeated in a mocking tone, taking Adrienâs place in the next few seconds, uncaring if he could be heard or not.Â
âRemy?â Patton perked back up. âShouldnât you be resting?âÂ
âDoc told me to walk about to get the blood flowing,â Remy answered with a grin and apart from his arm being in a sling, he looked like his usual self.Â
âRemington Bomen, what do you think youâre doing?â A stern voice soon followed.Â
âYou told me to walk around, Ems,â Remy said with a laugh as Dr. Emile Picani, a man with endless nicknames but mostly known as Picani, stormed over to him. Â
âDonât you âEmsâ me, you know I was talking about walking around the room. I am still examining you.â Picani took hold of Remyâs uninjured arm. âGood morning, Janus. Good morning, Patton.â He greeted the other two men with a cheery smile before tugging Remy away. âI still need to make sure youâre fine to go off on your own.â Picani scolded Remy as they went away.Â
âHave you noticed that Picani is only ever stern with Remy?â Janus commented.
âI think itâs cute.â Patton giggled.
âYou think everything is cute.â Janus teased.
âIncluding you~â Patton sang as Janus chuckled and closed the door.Â
Several minutes passed before the door to Remusâ bedroom opened and Remus peeked his head into the hall, checking it was clear before slipping back in, Loganâs voice coming out from behind it.Â
âI donât need to be carried.âÂ
âYou said you were sore.â Remusâs voice was followed by the shuffling of feet.Â
âI am, but Iâll just take some medicine when I get to my office. You already wouldnât let me get dressed on my own, I can walk down the-â The last part of Loganâs comment became a light yelp of shock and when the door opened, Logan was up in Remusâ arms. âThis is ridiculous.â Logan huffed.Â
âItâs called being a caring boyfriend.â Remus chuckled, patting Loganâs rear as he walked.Â
âItâs called being overprotective.â Logan had a grin with his comment.
âAre you complaining?â Remus winked and Logan smiled as he rolled his eyes.Â
âIâll give you twenty dollars and a back rub if they end up-â Janus stopped what he was saying as he and Patton left his room and ran into Remus and Logan. There was a long pause as the four of them looked at each other.Â
âI can ex-"
âYou two are terrible at hiding your relationship.â Janus cut Remus off.
âOur what? No-weâre not-I donât know-what?â Remus sputtered out while Logan just turned his head away.Â
âOh, please. Iâve known for a long time about this.â Janus vaguely gestured at them with a finger.Â
âHow long?âÂ
âWhen did you tell Patton?â
âPat!â Remus turned to Patton.Â
âHow could I not tell Jan?â Patton protested. âBut I swear I only told him and no one else knows. He promised not to tell and you know he never breaks a promise to me.âÂ
âHave you told him everything Iâve talked to you about?â Remus asked.
âYes,â Janus answered for Patton with a smirk.Â
âI do not want to know what that all implies.â Logan sighed. âNow can we-â He stopped at the sound of music coming down the hall, a genre of music they recognized as Virgilâs. It told all of them that he was coming and that he was alone.Â
âAh, shit.â Remus cursed and before he could have his next thought, Janus threw Patton over his shoulder right as Virgil came into view.Â
âUmâŚdo I want to know?â Virgil turned his music off and raised a brow.Â
âRemus is trying to prove heâs faster than me.â Janusâ lie came out easily and he shrugged.Â
âYou could go get Roman and join the race.â Remus quickly caught on.Â
âIâm good. Although, if he doesnât get out of bed, I might be doing it regardless.â Virgil softly chuckled. âAny word on Remy?â
âHeâs doing really well!â Patton pushed himself up a bit as he spoke.Â
âHe was walking around a bit ago, Picani dragged him back to the infirmary,â Janus added.Â
âThatâs a good sign.â Remus laughed.Â
âYou guys enjoy your race, I have a Princey to bother.â Virgil gestured with his thumb. âCoffeeâs made up and Adrien is in a mood.â He added the first part to Janus and said the second half with a roll of his eyes as he turned and walked away.Â
âYou owe me,â Janus said as soon as Virgil was gone, putting Patton back down.Â
âWait.â Patton wrapped his arms around Janusâ neck and jumped, making him catch him. âYou started this and I want you to finish it.â He said with a giggle.Â
âI can do that.â Janus smiled as Patton rested his head on his chest. âIâll give you more hell later.â He winked at Remus and Logan and walked away as well.Â
âNow, can you put me down?â Logan asked.
âIâll put you in your seat in your office.â Remus continued his own walking.Â
âI have no choice, do I?â
âNope~âÂ
âFine.â Logan played up his tone and kissed Remusâ temple. âYouâre lucky I love you.â
âThe luckiest man in the world.âÂ
