How to change the category of a CC Item in Sims4Studio
I’ve been asked this quite a few times now if I could, for example, make a blush working like a tattoo, so you don’t have it to choose it as a blush, or to simultaneously use it along with other blushes. You can make your favourite custom content available in the categories which you prefer, and it is super easy to do so. Now I’ll show you how…
First - super important: Open up Sims4Studio (you can download the program *HERE*, you will need to have an account there but trust me, you won’t regret downloading S4S since you can do a bunch of useful stuff with it, like batch fixes and much more)
After you’ve opened S4S, go to the “My Projects” category which I marked for you on the screenshot. The PC browser opens up and you can choose the file of your desire, you just need to track it down where you placed it (easiest would probably be your desktop)
When you opened up the preferred item, the screen probably looks like this (if not, I’ll show with this tutorial also a way how to do it when files are merged) Go to the “Categories” category. (no pun intended)
Go there, where “Outfit Type” is. There is a huge scroll with several categories (for me it’s all in german now, but S4S will usually show up in the language how your own computer is programmed). Now comes the fun part and you can choose where you want the item to be placed. If the item has more than one swatch, don’t forget to click the blue “Apply To All Swatches” button which is also directly there. When you’re ready, you only need to save the item (under right corner in S4S) and you’re done. :D
Congratulations, you’re awesome and managed to successfully change the item category! ♥
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In case the file is merged, it might be not THAT easy and fast to change the category. How to do this with such files will be also shown now.
After you’ve opened up S4S, it will look like a mess, and in the first place you might not understand it at all. It definitely looks a lot more frightening than it actually is! So, don’t worry, you’ll hang in there.
Look out on the left side for the “CAS Part” tabs. Click on them and the right side opens up, scroll a bit down until there is the “BodyType” category. Here you can choose just like in the regular way your preferred category. - Repeat this step for every single CAS Part swatch, and don’t forget to save afterwards, with many swatches it’s also better to save every now and then since every program has the chance of crashing occasionally.
And again, congrats! Now you’ve changed the categories for merged files, and can use them just like how you want to.
This is my first tutorial, so I hope you understood everything. ♥ Also forgive me for any grammatical errors, english isn’t my mother language.
