Hi! I have recently been accepted into the IB Diploma Program and I have been trying to find out more information about it. I was wondering about negatives and positives about IB, and what your favorite and least favorite things about it have been. Thanks in advance!
Hi! That's awesome that you've just been accepted :) I'm just about to graduate the IB and at this point I can confidently say I don't regret doing it.There's a lot to complain about with IB, namely the workload! But overall, it's not THAT hard if you just manage your time :) which brings me to my first positive point- the program really teaches you how to balance your time and do all sorts of adult-y organisation things. But remember- you only get out what you put in, take every opportunity and try your hardest.Another positive thing about the IB is that because of the difficult workload, you bond so much with your fellow IB students!!! The sense of community is amazing and you'll especially feel it as you go into your final exams (me in a week haha :') )Also, because a lot of IB is externally marked it doesn't have the subjective nature of some other curriculums. And the subjects aren't weighted, so Higher Level maths counts just as much for your IB as a lower level of maths etc etc.Last but not least, it's an international qualification and looks good on a resume!Overall, put in effort, make friends and have fun! You'll love it (even when you hate it :p )
