Current situation in brief:

If you are wondering about the current situation in Gaza, here is a brief overview of what is happening. The Israeli occupation had previously invaded most parts of the Gaza Strip, leaving only Deir al-Balah in the west of the Strip, and the death toll has so far reached more than 35,000 people. Recently, they threatened to invade Rafah, which contains the largest number of displaced people, about 1.5 million people, if they failed to impose their conditions on Hamas. But there are reports indicating that it may be the central region first (Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah), as they are easier routes than Rafah, due to its low population density. Therefore, people are ready to evacuate at any moment. Usually, when the occupation reaches any neighborhood, people live the worst days they could ever live. They may be imprisoned, disappeared, tortured, robbed, or even killed during evacuation by the Israeli occupation. In the end, Rafah was invaded and many of its residents were exterminated

How we live:

Currently, we live on a small plot of land in Khan Yunis, living in small, crowded tents with our relatives and some friends, about 40 people. It does not prevent the encroachment of hot summer. Most of us fell ill due to the change in weather and extreme heat, and the scarcity of medicines made the situation worse. It was only a matter of time before we started dealing with summer, wood burning, no gas and no electricity, just aimless medieval people living in the 21st century to get by with life's basic necessities. But imagine that you always fall asleep to the annoying sound of the Israeli plane.

Call to action:

We need to flee constant cruelty, flee war, injustice and death. This fundraiser aims to raise $40,000 for my family of 7 to move to Egypt and start over from scratch. And the treatment of my brother Muhammad. The money will be transferred to my aunt in Egypt, who will facilitate the necessary registration procedures through Ya Hala Company, the only legal entity through which Palestinians in Gaza can register to obtain legal status in Egypt for a temporary period. The cost is $5,000 per person.

Sadly, I had to leave my beautiful home in northern Gaza with my family to the so-called safe zone in Khan Yunis. Our home is not just walls and things. Every corner holds a story and warmth, and every being is connected to our hearts. The decision to leave was a huge burden on our shoulders. We didn't take all our belongings and left behind Sasha, my cat we all loved, faithful, as my mother said, "It will be temporary, and we will be back soon." Hope continued to fade until we thought our return home was just a deceived fantasy. Not only did the terrorist occupation make people suffer, but also the pet. When they withdrew from the neighborhood in which I live in the north, Karama, one of our neighbors entered our house to check it out, and saw our home from the inside, everything, from hardware to furniture and walls, was destroyed. After many conversations and frequencies, I decided to leave everything with my family because I had nothing left in Gaza in Gaza.

It is day 180 of the genocide in Gaza. During these brutal days, people in Gaza have faced all types of suppression and oppression. Our lives have turned upside-down since October 7th; we’ve lost everything we once had: our loved ones, homes, jobs, and memories. I am Ibrahim Al-Sharif, surviving the worst days of my life. A life without goals, hope, and bad news is all that I have been hearing so far during these ominous 6 months.
