People are really on TikTok criticizing Tate McRae for her Neutrogena add and listen there are some funny parodies of it however, there are legit people on the app who are taking personal offense to her, not using the makeup wipes or the products. Listen on one hand it was bad for the brand for allowing that to go through because it does put the brand in a bad light, but why are they acting as a Tate hasn’t used Neutrogena in the past and it has shown to work. Like can you just scroll through Tate’s TikTok? You can find another video of her clearly using those products. But I just don’t understand why you have people who are like genuinely offended by her posting that video. Also completely unrelated, but apparently Jack Hughes is already dating other people and is saying that Tate has red flags. But they’re conflicting reports that are saying Jack broke up with Tate, but I don’t believe that I think Tate broke up with Jack and he’s bitter

1) No one is forcing these people to buy products from Neutrogena. If you don’t want to, don’t buy them. Do you really need to see a celebrity using them in order for you to buy them?? Maybe let’s start thinking with our own brain.

A lot of these toxic anons just seem to be individuals that have never had well-adjusted, emotionally mature relationships OF ANY KIND (gay or not, romantic, platonic, or not) and it’s really showing. I honestly feel sad for them.

I had a best friend in high school (we are both female) and we had a very, deep, soul-level friendship that paralleled a lot of what I see in Will and Mack and we were platonic and hetero (we graduated and drifted apart since we went to different universities).

It is absolutely possible for platonic hetero relationships to have soulful, emotional depth, just like it’s absolutely possible for platonic gay relationships to have soulful emotional depth!

On a more real note, I think it's important people keep in mind that RPF introduces some weird power dynamics between fandom and the person of interest. I actually do genuinely feel bad that shipping between these two hockey players has reached the point where it's basically consumed their Tumblr presence. Sure, they are probably not on Tumblr (or at least I pray they aren't), but I'll be frank and say that if I was a professional athlete and I googled my name only to find edits of me and my friend, I would be pissed. And also weirdly embarrassed because if I can see it, it means my coworkers and bosses see it as well.

Most people in the public eye have someone managing or watching their social media presence, so they are likely at least vaguely aware this is a thing. But if they acknowledge it, not only do they have to go in front of maybe million of people and draw attention to the fact people are making/writing/and editing explicit content between them but they would get so much backlash. A few years ago, a wife of a Seattle Kracken's player basically told the internet to stop making weird comments/edits about her husband because romance readers were getting super parasocial about the team, and it had reached the point where it was effecting her every day life. And the internet trashed this woman to hell and back. Even Taylor Swift herself could not stop a certain segment of her fanbase from shipping her with women.

I've sadly accepted that RPF is something that is always going to exist. I personally really don't like it, but it's not a mole hill worth dying on. But once we've gone from the point of "This is a fun ship" to "I am an investigative journalist here to uncover a real relationship" I fear we've lost the plot

Culture has to play a part in this right? I'm an Aussie and our football players (Rugby league and Australia Rules Football) are TOUCHY with each other both on and off the field. I often see players out socially and they literally sit and hang all over each other.

Many of the young guys also live together and holiday together in the offseason. A lot of them even regularly wear nail polish and experiment with fashion and no one blinks about it.
