In my opinion getting physical with someone shouldn’t be the way to handle problems and the like and it takes a lot of mental strength to ensure that isn’t the first reaction. You know the whole fight or flight thing…

Though I’m not saying getting physical isn’t necessary sometimes. I just don’t believe it is always the answer.

Tell that to the Supers, Baselines and soldiers who needed to be physically stronger than their enemies to survive in close combat. Tell that to those single moms who needed the strength to carry and lift heavy objects every single day. I suggest you look broader, Berry, because sometimes, physical strength is the answer.

Love definitely isn’t the end all be all in life, I completely agree with you there. I’m not floating around pining and waiting for someone to love. I have big plans for myself, and none of them hinge on finding the love or loves of my life.

Smart boy. You won’t be able to convince me even if you try. I don’t believe in fate. I believe in choices. Every choice has a consequence and every consequence calls for another choice. It is our choices that determine our fate, not the other way round. 

I’ll see if you can still keep to your words when you’re in love with someone, Kurt. People tend to lose focus when they do, which is ridiculous. You know what I prefer instead of love? Loyalty. Diamonds, too.

HA. Whatever you want to think Quinn. I’m not a victim and I’ll never be a victim. I’m strong and can get through anything. I’m just a bit too sensitive at times but I don’t think that is a flaw. What is a flaw is being cold and I don’t believe it is just because of your powers.  I think its exactly how you want to come off because you are nothing but scared.

It’s a little more complicated than that, trust me. I thought it was cruel when I learned I wouldn’t be getting powers, granted I was a moody teenager at that time but I did grow out of that and I don’t think I resent my parents for it. 

I’m not saying you shouldn’t. I just didn’t know if they appeared one day or just kind of started slowly. I think it’s great that you were able to welcome your powers as quick as you did. I think there are some out there who are still adjusting to their powers.

I’m saying I’m not better than those who excel at the things I don’t, Super or not. I do think I’m extraordinary, but being extraordinary doesn’t necessarily equate to success or performance. 

You’re a much nicer person than I’ll ever be. I would have resented them if I were you. Perhaps your story is a bit more complicated than that, but they could have at least told you the truth since the very beginning since that’s only fair.

If we’re being completely honest, I wouldn’t have adjusted so quickly if they were powers that could have affected my physical appearance or body.

I think its sad because love can be so nice and fulfilling. Romantic love, platonic love, familial love. The more love the better, in my opinion.

Then you can’t exactly fault people for thinking you still have feelings for him now, can you? I’m sure you can work things out for yourself, but don’t blame others for your defensive behavior.

I’m almost all healed up! Two weeks was an adequate amount of time, but I’m still being told to not ‘dance too hard.’ Which is, well, difficult advice to follow to say the least. But I’m okay! And I mean, I guess it could’ve been worse. I just felt a little too lonely, but at least I got some much-needed rest. A blessing in disguise, maybe? Okay, I wouldn’t go that far, but I’m trying to think of the positives. 

I’m so glad I got to see you. So many friends visited me over the weekend! You all really put a smile on my face. I dunno what I’d do if I didn’t have you (and your self-made ice packs, of course).

You’re right, it could have been worse. Which is why I think you should follow the doctor’s advice and stay low for a little longer. What is two weeks or a month compared to years, or worst-case scenario - the rest of your life? I’ve heard that optimism helps to heal faster, so that’s a good thing to have. You’re a lot like Blaine in that regard, which would explain why I’m so fond of the two of you.

Well, no it’s just…it’s difficult to explain or get my intentions across I guess. I don’t think I would be able to out perform a Super with my skill. There are reasons that you lot are all ‘Super’. Doesn’t everyone want o be extraordinary in some way? 

No, uhm they won’t be coming forward. It’s a nice sentiment that I held onto for a long time but I’m actually adopted. From a non-powered human family. So I won’t be seeing any powers. I think for a time I was jealous of my brother. We used to be very close and before I found out I was adopted we imagined what powers we would have, if they would be like our parents or something entirely different. 

Wow, that had to be difficult discovering suddenly that one day you had powers. Or was it like a gradual thing?

That’s all right, you don’t have to explain your intentions to me. We’re called ‘Supers’ because we have special powers. They make us different, yes, but they don’t necessarily make us a better person. I can manipulate ice, but I can’t outrun the fastest human being in history. I already knew I was special before I even had my powers.

Adopting a kid from a non-powered human family into a powered one. It’s almost cruel, don’t you think? 

It was anything but gradual, but I had no difficulties welcoming my powers and treating them like a long-lost part of me. I don’t see why I should hesitate when they were mine to begin with.
