How to become an effective leader

Last day of Wednesday's routine helping in the public school: "Escuela 183", Montevideo, Uruguay . It was a sad goodbye for most of us, but we'll be glad to enjoy the trip were are expecting on November 6th!

It was great to have a team in which I felt confident and completed the trail as we did shopping. It was a great opportunity to apply our leadership skills in a context that is similar to our daily living and never leave outside the idea of having fun. I lead my team through some roads we had to take to reach our objectives and although I was happy because of the wonderful moments, I was also worried that my peers were trusting me to take them in the right direction. However, when someone doubted about me, I did it too because we can all make mistakes, but I didn't enter a collapse state thus asked a lady if we were oky. 

One challenge we had was to give the seals to eat and to buy the food we gathered all our money and bought fish. We got to accomplish all our goals and it was very satisfactory.

DANCING LESSONS

A couple came to the DGLA to teach students how to dance. However, more than dancing lessons this were lessons of how to be a leader in different types of activities and it was very interesting to develop this abilities in dancing lessons. 

I learnt that Ball room dancing is not about one person being the protagonist but of a team working together to help each other improve their moves as a couple and as individuals. Because of these, it is important to realize that the leader and the follower are equal and essential to reach the goals setup by them and the leader doesn't have more power than the follower thus they need each other to dance effectively.

Moreover, it is very important to have in mind that a person doesn't have to have all the leader's qualities to be able to become one, and rolls can invert in different cases.
