A Long Time, Journey + Adventure

Dear Amazing People,

It has been over 3 years since I last wrote my thoughts in a blog. In this expanse of time I have hit the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life. Going from 100k in debt to 50k in the black, getting married, having our first child, being baptized as a believer in Jesus, Launching two very successful companies and making amazing new friends. I find my life is a state of constant change which actually is the state which I desire, nomadic at heart is putting it lightly. Try to make one memory a day and take a picture is what my Sister Leslie showed me and this year, I plan on doing that. Life I have found is such a melange of emotions and challenges with the odd moment of nirvana along the way. Being nearly 30 and feeling like the World is my playground is a crazy thing. I never imagined I could actually get paid to share stories and adventures with other people nor did imagine this is the key to success. People the vast majority that is live 2-4 weeks a year on vacation and spend most the time sleeping in lol. Life, if you believe as my mom says can be looked at one of two ways- “either you can give love or you can take it” I have just chosen to give in and it returns 10 fold. Be the gift smile, love, laugh, and make the WOW moments for others. You will find your fortune in helping others achieve their dreams and great adventure along the way.

A Recent Development of the conscious mind

Lately, I have been listening to countless debates on ethical theory and listening to endless world views to find some scrap of understanding for the current complex mix of events occurring globally. Deepak Chopra said something pivotal and even though I don't share his world view it made absolute sense. "beliefs are insecurities about possible truths, truths are absolute and without question. People mask insecurities in beliefs, either it is true or not, what belief does this require, what is, is!" This not only changed my mind set on how I viewed god and my place in the world but gave me extreme confidence in the truth of Jesus Christ and his gospel. Perfect Life, Deity (He is the son of god), Death for our sins and  to appease god's wrath (propitiation), and resurrection. A Christian should live in truth, not belief, just truth! Jehovah is a good God to be trusted in all manners of our lives, his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. To many people put their wills first and fall away from God, we can't understand perfection, why do we try? Stay basked in god's truth as Job did throughout his tests. No matter your stance in life from atheist to pantheist, no one argues that Jesus lived, was crucified, and his tomb was empty it is just fact, proven by 99% of all historic scholars using non-Christian sources. World views are just that, I have chosen mine, not blindly but empirically having learned all the world's ethical theories from Descartes, Hume, Nietzsche, Plato, Marx, Freud, Dawkins, Darwin, Hitchins, Harris, and Dennet- I have read the best the world has to offer and the only one that actually make any sense is Jesus Christ. I challenge you to do the same, for if not, it is as Ravi Zacharis says the End to All Reason. May God be with all of you, no matter what you believe or the sins you have committed know peace rests in Jesus Christ.

Today's World

When presented the concept of growing up as kids, one never consider the notions of debt crisis, global famine, or global climate change. Now, as the next generation of leaders of our world we our perplexed by the complexity of the challenges that stand before us. These challenges that we did not create but must solve due to the arrogance and ignorance of our forefathers. Although solutions to daunting global issues seems impossible for the moment due to extreme complexity of the world economic and political environment, I believe there is hope. The first step was placing the environment on the balance sheet, the challenge is properly appraising the value of environment on that sheet. All of us value things different but all will commonly agree we need a healthy planet. If one thing unites all people of the world it should be the need for continuance and progress of the species. Progress what a novel concept to save our world! Progress in the forms of new technologies within all spheres of science not only gives people more comfortable and longer lives but replaces menial jobs and forces people to become more innovative to survive. I believe that the world is starting to change it s capitalist orientation, although I am a form believer that capitalism is essential to progress but not in its current form. Capitalism of today hinders progress not because of the attitudes of corporations or  government but in the form of the consumer themselves. The consumer who is much less motivated to seek the best product on the market but goes for the cheapest despite the environmental, health, and national well being. I hold everyone of us responsible for the actions of the ourselves, we control the market, we make the choices to consume. It is time to force progress through the action of our buying decisions. If you want the proper valuation of scare resources, act! By being a demanding consumer who seeks to buy only products which meet your standards. Tomorrow is shaped by our decisions today please care enough to put effort into tomorrow and know the duty of protecting the world rest on all of our shoulders.
