I wanted a take a secret picture of the Nefertiti bust (because—far too many reasons, but most importantly it redefined ‘stunning beauty’ for me and the fact it is 3000 odd years old had me twisting and turning bla bla bla and all the asian tourists were anyway taking pictures). You can take pictures everywhere in the museum, except for this particular object. “How unfair” I think to myself. As it turns out, my amazing analog Yashica T4 decides this would be an appropriate time to fire the flash. I had hundreds of people giving me the death stare for taking this picture and I was momentarily sure I was going to be deported or at least get thrown out of Berlin or something. Anyway, later I came across this great project by http://nora-al-badri.de and http://jan-nikolai-nelles.de.. Now I am going to print my own bust.
