ξМС : What about nature do they find calming? What about nature do they find disagreeable?
Iâm going to be kinda general on this at first to just say his thoughts of nature in general to make the specifics make more sense?
Joe used to find a lot of comforts in nature. Growing up at the church, it was a calming thing being in the nature that surrounded the area. It was like a protection between him and the people who hated him for being who and what he was.
But after the death of his foster father, that quickly didnât become the case. Sure there are times where Joe can find himself able to accept the calm and comforts of being within a forest, but quickly nature became more of a tool. Instead of a calm protection, nature was constantly being used very fast since his cyborg creation to protect him from those trying to kill him at every turn.
An island was the first example. A calm place to hide, that turned into a battle ground where he had to use every secret of the place to try to keep himself alive. And from then on it almost always was that case. Nature either held traps, or it was used to be protected from them.
It was like nature was more of a battle ground than a city was.
Being surrounded in nature almost always meant he had to be on edge. To be safe.
So, as such, these days Joe prefers the smaller bits of nature. A small garden or maybe a park in the city. A tree outside a window. Small examples of the place he used to find comfort in.Â
While bigger bunches like a forest, or large parks put him on edge. They hide danger and after all this time⌠Joe just wants to breathe easy for a while.
