(Also, a side not to consider is that there are good / pleasing designs that aren't super reliant on super high contrast. Don't get me wrong. Contrast is great and I love it but I think sometimes design gets a bit more complicated then "you always need to use the most high contrast thing possible. Obviously, don't make all your characters a single color blob but making a character I walking polkadate rainbow in the name of "contrast" wouldn't inherently be good either).

Also, it's weird that this is happening (although less frequently (even to now) but I loathe those fucking jokes where a character "can say the n-word" or "dresses up as a black character" because they have a tan now. IDK how to explain it perfectly other than the fact that they aren't even Black makes a lot of these jokes weird enough.

needed some inspiration so used @slightly-gay-pogohammer's pokemonizer for my girl Sal. Rolled a dual type Psychic/Bug and a Jellyfish/Sheep combo (thanks Mix of Shapes).

thought trying to combine all those contrasting elements alongside sal's whole Punk-rock bird witch thing was just gonna be a disaster but hey!! it all wound up being one of those things that shouldn't have worked but?? Did. sal's all points but her hair is fluffy and i feel like that sort of worked out for this design

the name was a complete bonus—didnt realise until right at the end that the scientific for blue bottles (what i was largely designing her Hat based on) was physalia physalis, and i only found out by accident

ok i'm being less lazy and putting together an actual honest to god commissions post instead of piggybacking off of some other piece of art!

I'm willing to draw most things (including backgrounds and, You Know 😏), but I can't draw mechs very well so I probably won't do those.

Feel free to peruse my art blog (this one, this blog) to get an idea of the kinds of things I draw.

If you're interested, send me an email with what you're after, including any relevant references (images are preferred, and can be either preexisting images of the character or inspiration/vibes based. if you're wanting a character designed and they don't have any existing references, please provide as detailed a description as possible).

I will confirm whether or not I can take on your commission, and clarify any details. Once confirmed, I will send an invoice to the email you contact me on, with half payment due up front and the remaining due upon completion.

you can send me a dm or ask here on tumblr if you'd like, but be prepared to prove to me you're not a bot. they're rampant about targeting artists. i will not be responding to commission requests put in the replies of any of my posts (especially if you're asking me to dm you, that's blatant bot behaviour, cmon.)

Prices are current as of 17/12/2025 (with USD prices an approximation based on conversion rates). Prices listed are for a single character, and I'm willing to throw in a small companion (little animals, simple pokemon, etc) at no extra charge, and complex additional characters are +75% of the base commission price.

Gradient/simple abstract backgrounds are free, props and scene elements are +20% base price, basic environments/scenes are +40% bace price, and complex backgrounds/scenes should be discussed (my backgrounds can get pretty detailed!! they're cool as hell and take a lot of time!!)

Bold + Brash (this is my favourite to draw in so it's a little cheaper :3c): Lines—75AUD Flat Colours—100AUD Full Shaded—140AUD

Pixel Perfect*: Starting at 100AUD, I only have a little experience doing pixel art, but have had some fun with it. Thought I would offer it for pokemon trainer-esque sprites
