Once there was a man whose imagination did soar he created many visions and gave us so much more. He created and turned all his thoughts into a place where everyone feels good and wears smiles upon their face. He also brought to life cartoon characters that he drew his one determined goal was with thoughts of me and you. He mixed it all with teaching because learning is the way With his imagination and knowledge A dream realized we see today. He is a fine example of what someone can do when believing in their dreams and making them come true.

Here is a little progression of my development process for Tinker Bell as she appears in the “Animators’ Collection” line of dolls for the Disney Store. I was so excited to find out I would be working on Tink that I started sketching in my notebook while my first meeting about her was still taking place. You can see my initial “thumbnail” sketches that are around an inch tall scribbled like some sort of foreign language I would take back to my desk to figure out. I wanted to capture her energy and hint to who she would later become. As Tink started to take shape, she started out cute, but maybe a little too cartoony. I was playing with dress proportions and hairstyles, until suddenly there she was. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do. And, if you haven’t gotten one of your very own, what are you waiting for?
