Just to clear something up!

I've been known to use both rainbow flag and the lesbian flag for gay female characters and there are three reasons for this!

The colour scheme of the character suits one flag over the other

I think the character would refer to themselves as either 'gay' or a 'lesbian' and then I use the appropriate flag.

It's the flag that was requested

So please don't think I'm trying to erase lesbian's identities! I just like to use a mix of both because I know gay women who either prefer gay or prefer lesbian and the corresponding flags.
