George and Paul spend ages tugging away at their guitars when they're travelling. They tuck themselves away as far as they can from the engine noise and constantly re-tune. We can hear them working out harmony phrases and middle eights. If things happen to go silent in the bus you suddenly get shrill falsetto 'oohs' coming from where Paul and George are sitting.

Paul even manages to write new stuff on the bus but John waits until we're at the theatre. He hides away in some spare dressing room and then calls Paul to join him when he's ready to tryout a new verse or something.
