At least she didn’t need to buy the forging station from Jake. She’d just have to bug her co-worker and friend, Luchs, to help her get it home after she bought it. And bought it she did!

Karina was working hard to save up her money for her forge (among other things), so she got her fishing and her mining on and... Happened to hit a small jackpot!Â

Not so Blind Date - Karina + Toby
lunarlanterns‌:
Toby hadn’t known what he’d been thinking when he entered himself in as a volunteer for the blind date auction. He wasn’t at all experienced with dates, and so had he ended up with a stranger, it probably would have been a pretty awkward experience. But… it had sounded sort of fun, and the money went to a good cause. What was the worst that could happen, anyway?
Whatever he’d been expecting to happen, it had certainly not been this. Following the auction, he’d been expecting a text or a call from someone new. He got no such thing. After a while, he’d become discouraged, thinking maybe he hadn’t been bid on at all–when he received a photo from Karina. It listed the matches from the auction… and there he was, paired with his closest friend.
He smiled.Â
Things couldn’t have gone better. A day with Karina was always something to look forward to. But a date with Karina…? Was it different?
… Did he want it to be different?
Toby had tried not to linger on these thoughts on the boat ride to the aquarium. All he knew was that this was his chance to show off his proudest achievement to his best friend, and he was determined to give her a good time. This place was beautiful, and he could talk all week about it. He wondered which animals she’d love the most…!
The boat reached the dock, and as Toby walked along it, he spotted the familiar pair outside the entrance into the aquarium. His aquarium. (That was still so exciting…!) Topaz sat beside Karina, who wore a pretty sweater dress and hat to match. She looked lovely. No one could deny that.
The fisherman blushed gently and tugged at the hem of his sweater, struck by a wave of sheepishness as he recalled that “date” tag. He closed the distance between him and her, and rubbed at the back of his neck. “Of course I made it.” He smiled warmly, gently. “I’m glad to see you. ♫ “
One look at that smile was enough to put Karina’s mind at least a little at ease. Clearly, he wasn’t too disappointed to be spending the day with her (as opposed to any of the other girls who were at the auction). That was a relief at least.Â
“I’m glad to see you, too! ( I was a little worried you might be disappointed...)” she mumbled the last part, her cheeks heating as admitted it out loud. Maybe she had been silly to worry as much as she had, but she truly hadn’t thought to ask him if he was okay with her bidding on him (for all she knew, he might have someone else he was hoping for instead... but she wouldn’t let herself think about that because she just ended up sulking when she did).
Then again, she hadn’t exactly said she had done it on purpose either. Or that she had only bid on him.Â
Better to keep that to myself, unless he asks about it....Â
“So, it’s all yours now, is it?” she decided it would be best not to dwell on the what-if’s and instead stood beside him and turned around, looking up at the building with a new set of eyes. Toby had achieved his dream and done it so quickly! “I know I said it before, but... (over the phone isn’t quite the same, so...) Congratulations. You worked hard, and you managed to buy it!”
Karina’s voice was more enthusiastic sounding than usual, as she allowed herself to be for such an occasion. She had to be careful not to get too excited normally, but this definitely was an exception.Â
Lightly placing a slender hand on his arm, her emerald eyes finally turned to look at him as she added, “I’m proud of you. (Good job!)”
More sneaky purchases
Karina doesn’t even try to hide it when she buys her newest purchase from Luke. She knows he knows what she’s doing. She’s just grateful he hasn’t told Jake, Owen or Sofia yet.Â

Right. They always had shared a favorite colour as well. It was funny when she thought about it. They’d always had so much in common. She felt like perhaps she had taken it all for granted back then, until he had graduated ahead of her. “Really?” there was a hint of surprise in her voice when he mentioned them making something together. She was used to being brushed aside and told to let someone else do it. Then again, her mother always had been controlling like that. Maybe if she had someone with her, it wouldn’t turn out as bad. “Do you think you might be able to teach me? We could catch the fish together… (And then cook it right away…)” The idea was eye opening, something she had never considered, but the look on her face absolutely gave her away. She was enamored with the idea. It sounded like a perfect way to spend a day off, truth be told. She didn’t get up to much normally and just hung around the apartment on her own - but now she was really looking forward to it.Â
Things will be a lot more interesting now…!
It was strange to think that not much had changed since they had last seen each other, and she found herself relieved when she realized it. He might have been a bit taller, a bit older, but he was still the same Toby. His warmth seemed to permeate her skin and flow through her body - something she hadn’t even realized was missing. The two of them were very much alike without even realizing it, Karina also spending most of her time alone since moving out.Â
Even after figuring out what was going on with her body, thanks to Topaz, she didn’t feel her usual sense of panic or urgency. There was just something so comforting about being with Toby. She felt safe and secure. Perhaps that was why, when she finally gave in to sleep, there was no nightmares this time. Not like when she had fallen asleep next to Jamie at the Harvest festival weeks prior to this. Instead, she snuggled against his arm and sighed softly, looking quite relaxed, despite knowing she was in a public park at night.Â
“Toby….?” she mumbled against him, “(Thank you….)”
Even the yellow lab seemed unconcerned, his tail wagging as he scooted closer to Toby, whilst still in reach of Karina - lest he be needed. He let out a contented grumble, leaning his body against Toby’s legs.Â
Thankfully, Karina would only be only be out for about fifteen minutes before consciousness started to return. She was always a bit groggy at first as she got her barings about her, but she blinked up at him in surprise for a second before memory flooded back in and she raised a hand to rub her eyes.Â
“Ah - !” Glancing up at the sky, she sighed in relief. At least it wasn’t morning or anything yet. “I didn’t sleep for too long, did I? (If we missed the last boat, I can pay for a hotel or something….)”Â
When was the last boat anyway? She hadn’t thought to check that out, come to think of it.Â
Losing Karina’s company had been a rough blow back then. He still wasn’t entirely sure why he hadn’t continued contact with her. Maybe he’d been concerned the girl wouldn’t actually want to see him anymore; he’d always been a little self-doubting, and back then it had been even worse than it was now. Maybe he’d just gotten caught up in his worries over going into the real world. But either way, he’d missed her. Though he’d had a few other friends, he spent more time with her than with any of the others. He’d been missing out on something in his life for a long while after losing her company, and it had taken quite some time to get past it. But it was all okay now. They could make up for their missed time. “Well… I’m not great at cooking. But I think we can find something to make together.” He couldn’t help but smile at the interest that lit his close friend’s face. Though he had his self-doubts, faces like that helped soothe those. She genuinely wanted to cook with him, to do things with him. To be with him. That was a nice feeling.
As was the warmth of her body as she cuddled up against him. It was soothing, pleasant in contrast to the chilling night air. This was something he’d needed far more than he’d realized. Toby looked down at the young woman clutching his arm, appreciating the serenity and comfort softening her features. Then she murmured his name, a sweet little mumble he almost didn’t hear. He leaned his head closer to hear better. She thanked him.Â
For what, he wasn’t entirely sure. It seemed like he should be thanking her for… being here, for remembering him. For giving him this closeness and warmth he’d longed for for so long. Nonetheless, he answered with a soft “You’re welcome.” Topaz leaned against him, and he felt a quiet chuckle catch in his throat. What better place to be than this? His best friend huddled close and a sweet pet leaning up against him too? He was full of warmth, happiness, and affection for his current company. Karina and her dog. He was taking to him quite quickly.
When Karina stirred, Toby almost looked asleep himself, eyes shut and breathing slow and calm. Had she been asleep longer (and had he not been concerned about watching over her), he probably would have dozed off himself. A soft, sleepy groan stirred in the fisherman as he lifted his head.Â
“Mm.” He yawned and shifted around a little, stretching out his back as well as he could without pushing against her. “No, it wasn’t long.” With that though, it occurred to him to actually pull out his phone and check the time. … Oh.
“Ah, Karina…” He chuckled sheepishly and ran his hand through his pale blue hair. “The last boat leaves soon.” The time sure had gone by fast, hadn’t it?
These days, it was actually quite unusual for Karina to sleep without some sort of issue. She had always had problems related to her sleep, thanks to her condition, but since striking out on her own, they seemed to be happening even more than before. It was possible this was because her mother had still yet to even try to contact her since she left, although she would never admit this to anyone.Â
She knew it wasn’t because she didn’t care - Karina and her mother were both simply too damn stubborn. As much as she hated to admit it, Karina knew that she and her mother were actually quite similar. Not to mention that her mother seeming to be indifferent only made her insecurities about being abandoned and unloved seem even more likely.Â
On top of this, there was the sleep paralysis to worry about.
But there was something about Toby’s presence that seemed to keep these things from happening as much. Maybe it was because he was such a calm person to be around and she trusted him, she really wasn’t sure of the answer, but it was nice to be able to wake up and feel warm and safe - as opposed to scared and lonely.Â
She wasn’t about to tell him any of this, at least not yet, but it made her so grateful that she didn’t really want to let go of him, even if it was likely awkward for him. They weren’t as young now as they had been in high school. Her selfishness really could be persistent, but she forced herself to sit back up - only not letting go of his hand.Â
“Thanks again, for not leaving. (I don’t want anyone else to mistake me for a hobo... Or drag me to the doctor’s office again... even if Leuda’s doctor is pretty nice...)”Â
Hearing him chuckling beside her, she tilted her head ever so slightly. Hearing that it had already gotten so late, her eyebrows rose in alarm. “Oh! We should go! (I’ll feel bad if you get stuck here because of me....)” she was glad that the paralysis hadn’t seemed to have kicked in, or else it would have been difficult for her to even get up. This wasn’t the case this time and she rather reluctantly released her grip on him to pick up the leash attached to Topaz. It was really too bad the night had gone so quickly, but she was so grateful that everything had worked out.
Toby... Her best friend... She was never going to let him disappear again, she was determined.Â
Standing up, she also stretched out her muscles and then held out her hand to him with a gentle smile crossing her face. “Here, let’s get going. (I’m glad we can go home together. It’ll be a lot more fun that way.) Oh, you can show me which apartment is yours, too. Since we’re going to the same building anyway.”
It was a lot harder to pick a cute outfit in late November, but Karina figured a sweater dress was probably something that would count as date-worthy. Besides, this way she was less likely to freeze when she was walking to the aquarium to meet Toby. Not to mention on the walk back.Â
Hopefully this would be casual enough that it wouldn’t seem weird, but nice enough that it would show she put some effort into things. And as her best friend already knew, getting Karina to put effort into much of anything was a feat in itself.Â
Not so Blind Date - Karina + Toby
After the auction had come to a rather exciting end (after all, she had guessed right and managed to win the date she was aiming for), Karina had simply texted a photo of the list of dates to Toby and asked him when he was free. She didn’t bother trying to explain her actions, she wasn’t even sure how to do so anyway.
As to where they were going, it was pretty obvious, at least to her. Sure, he was the owner of the aquarium now (and she was so proud of him for that!), but that didn’t change the fact he’d promised her a tour.
The only difference was the date tag attached to it. She really didn’t know if that changed things, but she supposed she should at least make herself look nice. Not that she expected Toby would mind no matter how she looked, but...Â
Once she was satisfied with her appearance, she and Topaz headed over to the aquarium to meet with him. Although she could have met him at his apartment, since they lived only a floor apart, she figured it would be more exciting to leave him in suspense until he got there.Â
Perhaps it was because of the date label, but for some reason she felt nervous as she finally arrived outside the building. Part of her wondered if he was going to think it was weird she’d bought a date with him and she glanced up at the sky thoughtfully for a brief moment before letting out a sigh. The butterflies in her stomach were really being a nuisance...Â
“(As long as he doesn’t think I was just being selfish...).” she whispered, mainly to herself, but her canine companion simply looked up at her with a wagging tail, almost looking to smile at her. It was contagious enough and a small smile returned to Karina’s face, just in time for Topaz’s ears to raise up and his head to turn in the opposite direction as he walked a few paces forward.
As expected, when Karina’s emerald gaze looked up, she saw the person she was waiting for and she smiled almost shyly as she held up a hand in greeting.
“Good morning! (You made it!)”

Dear Diary - 11.25.18
The blind date auction finally came and went. It was an exhausting day, what with having to travel to Arcadia and back, but...
I managed to win Toby! Who would know him better than his best friend, right? I got really excited, which was kind of embarrassing... But I got to see Pia and Clori there, too, so....Â
I’m really happy with how I did. Although now I wonder what we’re going to do. I’ve never been on a date before. Maybe we should meet up at the aquarium, like we talked about? ( And is it different with the word date attached to it...?)
I guess I hadn’t really thought this far ahead. I just didn’t want Toby going with someone else. (Is that really that selfish...? Mother would have said it was, but... Maybe I am being selfish....)
What am I going to wear....?
Maybe I should ask someone for advice, but I’m not sure who. I don’t think Clori or Pia have much more experience than I do. (Plus it’d be embarrassing...)
For now, I am just going to stop thinking about all of that and go to bed with my cat and my dog and just.... Not worry about anything! I’ll just be happy that I won!Â

Coincidentally, they shared a favorite color. After all, how could Toby not love blue? He had it on his mind constantly, often daydreaming of the vast blue of the ocean and what dwelled within it. It was a soothing, serene color for him, one that brought to mind dreams, mystery, the sheer grace of nature. “I remember,” he stated warmly. “I like the blue ones too.” Toby wasn’t the greatest cook in the world, not by any means, but surely he could manage to make something his friend could enjoy. If she didn’t get to treat herself to a nice meal very often, he would just have to do it for her! They’d have to talk about what she might like to eat later… “I’ll make sure to bring something over when I visit,” he offered. “And maybe we could make something together.”Â
Though at times he could be easily flustered, it was easy to relax again with Karina. It had been a long time since he felt so comfortable with someone, so fully accepted and appreciated. That wasn’t to say he felt alienated by others, not exactly, but there was something special about someone he’d been friends with for so long, despite the fact that they’d been separated for a while. She was still the Karina he remembered–and adored. “I might have gotten a little taller. I never really kept track of it.” He chuckled lightly, finding her pout endearing. She wasn’t a large girl; he most likely wouldn’t have an issue carrying her again. He remembered when he’d done it before. She seemed to love it, to find the different view so amusing. Her happiness rubbed off on him.
Again shyness crept into him, but it was overwhelmed by the warmth he felt for his friend. Or was that just the warmth in his cheeks? The silence left him ever aware of the feeling of her hand in his, this closeness so unusual to him lately, and yet he craved more of it. Since moving out from his childhood home, he hadn’t really had any friends aside from his cat. It had been strange and new, being out on his own, and having Karina by him again was pleasantly nostalgic, a part of his old life coming back to him. At her response, he felt his cheeks heat further, but he smiled nonetheless. It was good to be wanted.
Maybe if this had been his first time seeing this, Toby might have been startled as Karina started to fade. And there was still a sliver of worry pricking his chest–but he knew she’d be okay. And she had him and Topaz to watch over her. It occurred to him that it could be dangerous for her to fall asleep alone and in public; there were some bad people out there… But he tried to shake this thought off. Topaz wouldn’t let anything happen. “It’s okay,” he murmured gently, as if speaking loudly might disturb her, despite the fact that she was going to sleep regardless of his tone. “Topaz and I will keep you company. ♪”Â
Karina put her head against his shoulder and her hand on his arm. He sighed contently, enjoying the closeness and savoring the trust his friend was putting in him. It felt good to be trusted, and he wouldn’t betray that trust. He’d sit here as long as it took. He let his gaze flicker up towards the moon, then to the dog sitting by them. With his free hand, he reached out to pet his head. “Good boy,” he praised softly. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back. Goddess, it was good to see her again.
Right. They always had shared a favorite colour as well. It was funny when she thought about it. They’d always had so much in common. She felt like perhaps she had taken it all for granted back then, until he had graduated ahead of her. “Really?” there was a hint of surprise in her voice when he mentioned them making something together. Mini Games - 11.22.18
Karina had a busy week of mining and fishing - sadly, her mining was cut short as she encountered orange gas. And... Much to her dismay, she found no ore. No forging was to be done this time and that was frustrating, but at least she had some extra cash. Normally she would have put it toward her forge, but with the blind date auction coming up.... Well, perhaps she would have to save the money for now.
After all, wasn’t her best friend one of the volunteers? She knew she could see him whenever she asked, but... For some reason, she felt inclined to try and win him for herself. If she could figure out which one he was, that is.Â

lunarlanterns‌:
Toby had a talent for finding the beauty in just about anything. He had a deep appreciation for the world and all it had to offer, and so, though gems weren’t his personal love, he could still appreciate them. With that fact in mind, plus his connection with Karina, how could he not be interested in her hobby? Gems were naturally worth being admired. He’d surely be astounded by what she would someday be able to create. “Of course it won’t be boring. I would love to see your collection. I’m sure it’s beautiful.” He offered a reassuring smile, then let out a weak chuckle. “I can bring some snacks.” He wasn’t horrible at cooking, though most of his recipes involved fish. Maybe he could try to switch it up and bring her over a treat…
Normally he likely wouldn’t have responded so… extremely, but this felt like their second first impression. He was fearful of making any mistakes, now that they’d just reunited. Surely he would grow more at ease soon enough, but for now, his cheeks were still lit a soft pink. “I’ll get used to piggyback rides again. I promise.” He nodded his head a little. “Good. I’d hate for you to get hurt…”
So there they sat, hands curled shyly around each other’s but neither pulling away. It seemed that maybe both of them craved affection, but this was all they were willing to take. The warmth of the other soothed the lanky male, and his tensed shoulders slowly relaxed. His face still felt warm against the cool autumn air, but a soft smile had settled pleasantly on his features. Joy played in his chest like moths against a lantern at hearing her agreement. “I missed you,” he murmured simply. He’d probably already said it, but he wanted her to know how true it was.
The whining of Karina’s dog broke him from his reverie, and he looked over at Topaz with a small frown. He was restless, apparently. Did he need something, or maybe…?
“… Do you think he’s warning you, Karina?” Concern replaced confusion on his features. “How are you feeling?”
“It is! I’ve been collecting for a long time. The blue stones are always my favorite, though.” which she was certain wouldn’t be a surprise to Toby. Blue had always been her favorite colour and anything blue always got special attention from her. What was Toby’s favorite again? She couldn’t quite remember, but she was sure it would come to her. If not, she would have to ask. “Ooh! Snacks are always appreciated! ( I just... Burn everything when I try to make stuff...)” it was embarrassing to admit, but she ate a lot of instant food because of it. Hopefully that would change soon. Then again, if Toby was better at cooking, she figured she could always mooch off of him sometimes! “(I can bring my own fish....)” she mumbled at the thought, wondering if he would let her get away with it. She was definitely going to have to find that one out. Besides, it would be a good excuse to go over and bug him more often!Â
Karina was happy to see him relax, slowly but surely, despite her teasing. She wasn’t that sort of person around most people, but it seemed like he was able to bring out that side of her, even now. “Yay! (Just... Don’t let me force you if you aren’t ready... I don’t want you to get hurt either....)” She had always appreciated that he put up with her that way. She had always loved bugging he and Owen to carry her around - even sometimes when she didn’t necessarily need to be carried. It was something she enjoyed, especially since they were both WAY taller than she was. Speaking of, she looked him over and tilted her head. “Mm.... Did you grow again after high school? (You look even taller than before... It’s not fair...)” but it did mean she would get an even better view when he was ready for her to climb on him again.Â
It seemed they had fallen into a companionable silence for a few moments and Karina was totally okay with that. With his hand gently clasped in hers, she couldn;t help but feel warmth through her, and excitement for what was to come. Life seemed like it was about to get a lot more fun - which was a good thing, since she often felt like it was monotonous these days. It seemed a lot more manageable when she thought that she would have this hand to hold to help her through it. Glancing over at him as he broke the silence, she felt that warmth spread to her cheeks again. It was impossible not to smile. “Me too..” she admitted gently, her green eyes glancing his way again for a moment before Topaz stole her attention away.Â
No sooner had Toby mentioned that her dog was likely warning her of something that Karina felt that dreaded feeling of fatigue wash over her. Ah - so he was right after all. At least she was already sitting down and she was with Toby. She blinked her eyes a few times, trying to fight the heavy feeling that was starting to fall over them. “Mm... Ya.... You’re right....” She yawned then, petting Topaz with her free hand and mumbling, “(It’s okay... I’m already sitting down... And safe...)” to him before setting herself back against the bench. “Sorry, Toby.... I’ll try not to be out too long...” she could have kept fighting the urge to sleep, but she knew there was no real point. Instead, she leaned her head against his shoulder, her breathing already starting to slow, as often was the case.Â
“’m sorry....” she mumbled, her other hand coming to rest on his arm, as if hugging a teddy bear. Her eyes were already closed as she continued to mumble at him, slowly losing her fight with consciousness.
 “(Please.... Don’t leave....)”Â

Like Karina, Toby enjoyed seeing his friend enjoying her passion. Without one, life seemed as if it would be much dimmer, much less certain. To have a passion, a love, truly was a beautiful thing. One could watch a person light up when they discussed their passion in a way that couldn’t be faked. A passion could bring people together, could help someone through the toughest of situations, could give them a purpose when otherwise they struggled for a meaning to life sometimes. Toby knew that in times of hardship, it was often fishing and appreciation for the ocean that had gotten him through them. So it was nice to know Karina had her own passion, that no matter what, she had it to depend on. Though he hoped that she could come to depend on him again, as well. “I’d like to see your collection. Maybe when we see each other again,” he suggested hopefully.Â
Those naps during lunch, though brief, had been one of the best parts of Toby’s days. Sharing the relaxation of sleep with someone important had always warmed the fisherman’s heart. After all, sleeping was a time of vulnerability, and to trust someone else to sleep by them seemed to him like a very fortunate thing. Kiku was a nice nap partner, but he quietly hoped himself that they get some rest together again sometime, maybe after a long day’s work and a cup of warm tea. Yes, that sounded nice. A dreamy sigh escaped him at the thought.
Though shortly after, he frowned and his cheeks went red as he internally panicked, worrying over having put his foot in his mouth. The last thing he wanted to do was rub Karina the wrong way on their first meeting in so long. What if he made her not want to spend more time together? A series of similar thoughts went through his head as he stumbled over his words. “No, no…! That– that wasn’t my intention…! I’m sorry. You look great. I just meant to say that, that I’m not in the best of shape right now… That’s all.” But she laughed, so he smiled, despite his face still feeling uncomfortably warm. “I’ll get used to it again.”
It was strange to hold someone’s hand. He hadn’t really held anyone’s in a long time, aside from Paolo’s occasionally. It was warm and soothing, and yet he felt his stomach squirm with unease. Whatever it was… it was good. It was nice to be close with his friend again. Despite him slipping up and saying something wrong, she was still here. He wasn’t sure when to take his hand away, so he just gave a gentle squeeze in response and turned his gaze up to the moon once more. “We’ve almost completely forgotten about the moon viewing,” he noted with a soft hint of a laugh in his tone. “I guess I’m more excited about seeing you again.”
It was pretty rare for Karina to find anyone remotely interested in her gem collecting hobby, with the exception of Owen, and she brightened even more at his genuine interest. If she could show him how lovely they were and then eventually what she could do with them when she had the proper tools... She was sure it would impress him. Maybe she could even make him something, once she got her own forge set up. “If you’re sure it won’t be too boring, I’d be happy to. (Just don’t ask me to cook when you come over. It’s never good to let me cook...)” maybe if she and Topaz worked at it, she might be able to learn... But she had been yelled at a few times for setting off the smoke alarms due to passing out while cooking, so.... “(I don’t want the land lord to be mad again...)”Â
She hadn’t really had a reason to get better before either, but maybe that would change, if she had someone she could invite over. She knew that she was generally more capable than other people thought, she just had to get the determination to make things happen. And often that didn’t happen on its own for her. But she did like the idea of the two of them going over for visits when they had free time. Especially since she knew he wouldn’t be mad if she fell asleep when they were doing things like talking or watching a movie - if anything, he’d likely join her. And she trusted him enough that she was okay with that.Â
Of course, that didn’t mean she wasn’t the type to tease on occasion. She hadn’t expected him to take her quite so seriously this time, but the way he panicked certainly hadn’t changed over the years. It was adorable to see him get so flustered, but she almost felt bad for thinking it. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. (Don’t worry, I’ve never been in shape). Thanks to Topaz, I shouldn’t just collapse anymore, so... (just make sure nobody kidnaps me in my sleep and we’ll be okay).”Â
Karina was actually surprised he hadn’t let go of her hand yet, but she found herself to quite enjoy the warmth from his much larger hand. She hadn’t ever had a lot of affection before, but since leaving school, it had become non-existent. It was really no wonder she kept forgetting about the moon. And hearing that he was feeling the same made her feel warm once again, her cheeks flushed as she looked back up at the sky. “You’re right... But I feel the same way. It’s beautiful, but.. (I’m more excited that you’re here with me.)”
So much so that she hadn’t noticed the lab starting to nudge at her hands with his nose until he finally started whining, standing back up at attention and plunking a paw in her lap.Â
“Oh... (What’s up, boy?) I forgot you were here... (Sorry...)”
