Dear vtm fandom ; I do have a question because lore wise, my knowledge is not that deep and I was being curious.

If I was a vampire and if I’d drink the blood of an antediluvian, would it turn me into a antediluvian too somehow ?

Oh and could a vampire be sired by an antediluvian ? [Don’t come for my ass, I’m just being curious]

Okey so;

Antediluvian is a term literally meaning "before flood" so you could describes it as any representative of the first, second or third generation of Kindred, however it is usually used for the third generation since all of second gen are dead and Caine- the first vampire is generally speaking Missing In Action. They are super duper old and basically treated like a myth or gods in Modern Nights. They are dead or in torpor or hiding as thier blood is very potent and lots of Kindred seek it out. They as any other Kindred, can Embrace a new vampire - in fact they are responsible for the existence of Clans as we know them - they founded most of them, with few exceptions, creating the 4th generation. They don't usually do that during Modern Nights tho as, again, they are all dead or in hiding and/or in torpor.

Drinking the blood of a different Kindred, no matter thier generational status, will end up with the drinker developing a blood bond - an artificial deep connection that eventually, if maintained for long enough and repeated regularly, will make the Kindred develop this blind adoration towards the owner of the blood. HOWEVER it is, like i said very very potent as the curse of Vampirism is fresher and less diluted. Therefore drinking such blood also gives the Kindred many benefits. The lore is more or less "idk shit is powerful you can bullshit it", but we do have an example of some properties of Malkav's blood - it is said to be able to (amongst a few others) heal any wounds and derangements (unless u r a Malkavian who's original derangements remains as there is no way to remove it, this is thier clan curse after all) and drops thier generation lower by one (so for example from 13th to 12th). It won't make the Kindred Antediluvian themselves (as the term is bout AGE not GENERATION) but it will make them more powerful. That's why it's such a big deal to have access to such blood and why they are usually hiding.

There is also the possibility of Diablerie - cannibalising the other kindred beyond the point of final death, feeding upon so called soul of the Kindred. A taboo topic in the vampiric society, which will always lower your generation, usually by one, but if the gap is significant the Storyteller might choose to let you drop a few. That would usually be the case with diablerizing an Antediluvian as most kindred are of much higher generations. HOWEVER, diablerie is dangerous, as there is always the risk of getting overpowered by the Kindred you try to cannibalise and them pulling an uno reverse card on you and snatching your body for themselves.

So, drinking blood of an Antediluvian has many benefits as well as drawbacks, however it will not make a Kindred an Antediluvian themselves, as the term is about the age of the vampire rather than thier power, HOWEVER it will make them more powerful, potentionally so much that they could be matched in said power. For that however, you would need to most likely kill one or two to achieve that 3rd generation status.

But no, drinking their blood will give you nothing than a blood bond. You'd need to diablerize them, but you cannot get higher than and Ante, so this will probably not do much - except for the Antes soul taking over your body.
