sits here and thinks a lot about the tiny habits / dislikes kunikida developed after The Incident that most people wouldn't think twice about, like. he'll never eat at a window table in restaurants because it was the clear view that made his family an easy target. he hates sitting in the middle of a booth seat because he needs to know he can get up and move as soon as possible if something goes wrong + he can't sit at the window seat on planes for the same reason. he can't fall asleep facing a wall because having his back towards an exit makes him too anxious to sleep. he never has his phone on silent anymore because god forbid he miss something important again. if he does somehow miss a call, it's guaranteed that he'll call back asap to make sure it wasn't an emergency. in the case of nightmares, if it's possible, he won't hesitate to call whoever might've been involved just to make sure they're actually safe. he's grown so used to always hearing someone, even if those people aren't real, that silence makes him genuinely uncomfortable. when it's quiet, his first thought is that something is wrong / is about to go wrong. if he's ever around someone that ends up asleep, he'll stay awake as long as he can within reason so he can act if they stop breathing for whatever reason. i could go on,
