I have a bit of a conundrum going on, and I was hoping you wouldn't mind me asking for advice on how to go about it ?
I made a rp blog recently , and There's been some mutuals-only blogs i've been wanting to follow so that i could rp, but unfortunately my new rp blog is an sideblog, which means i'd have to follow from a personal
What my question is what would be the best way of letting them know i have rp blog? I think messaging them might be logical way to go, something like ' hey this is my rp blog, following to be mutuals that way check out if you like '
but i worry that could also barge into their space somehow?? I dunno, I'm very new to rp etiquette, so i'm just a little unsure how go about it in a way that wouldn't be intense and stay respectful
If there's any tips you got in that regard, i'd be very thankful
iiit depends! there isn't really a sure way to be followed back in general, let alone by a mutuals only, and as someone with nothing but sideblogs when it comes to roleplay i know its difficult.
i generally follow first and reblog their promos, because thats by far the best way to make ME notice someone else's blog when they do that - and if they dont have one, i send an off-anon ask telling them im following them for a specific sideblog. something like "hello, hope you're doing fine! just a heads up, this is my hub and i follow for (blog name)!!" and then!!! i wait. i generally give everyone some time to follow back, and if theyre active and after a week they didn't i just cut my losses and unfollow them uwù>
a good hint i can give, wether your main blog is your personal one or a HUB, is to let people know that you have RP sideblogs in there. i like having links in my pinned post ( and. tbf i have one million blogs so i have a link to the page where theyre all listed ), i follow people who have a generalized promo of all their sideblogs as their pinned, and im sure there are a lot of different ways!!!
but yea even mutuals only blogs will occasionally be. not mutuals for a short time. follow them to test the waters, but generally avoid interacting in character until they follow back, and dont take it too personal if they dont!
