I created #bermaids as a fandom name for the Nicole Beharie fandom. Nicole never said, “Oh yeah! I like that.” So if you consider yourself a fan or supporter no one is forcing you to be called that. You can be a Baeharie or whatever else you’d like to be. Also I find it annoying that some people don’t use it as a hashtag, but as a username..I could be direct, but this isn’t to start drama. I’m just expressing how I feel. To me it’s like this; You don’t speak for the whole fandom and you didn’t check to see if using the name was okay with the creator so maybe you shouldn’t use it as a username as if you created it. Maybe I’m just salty, but I’ll give you props. Your page is lit. Let’s keep boosting Nicole <3

This is 7-year-old Lamya Cammon. Her teacher took her in front of her Milwaukee public school class and cut off one of her braids as punishment because she kept playing with her hair. The teacher has received just a small fine and is still in the classroom.
