part 2 of the prune noury exhibition in Paris

Prune Noury exhibition at the Templon gallery in Paris. I went a couple of weeks ago and was really moved by her work. She models after women part of the La Maison des Femmes in St Denis, near Paris, a shelter and organisation made specifically for women suffering from abuse

Some absolute classics here, how alive does the venus de milo feel

Went to the Louvre to see paintings loaned from a museum in Rome, I had never seen this Artemisia Gentisheschi painting up close and was definitely on my bucket list

Went to see this cave painting exhibition at the Musée de l’Homme in Paris that i thouroughly enjoyed,

it showed reproductions of rock art (how awful is that compared to art rupestre) that were found by archeologists, those hands make me feel closer to people before me

Discovered Lorenzo Mattotti who made this comic related to Bob Dylan, i love the use of coloured pencil.

And Camille Jourdy’s illustration is so soft and precise.

Part 3 of the comics exhibition in Centre Pompidou in Paris.

How gorgeous is the second photo ? It’s the back of an illustration and it’s a shame i didn’t take a photo of what the front looked like but here we are. The colors look so good together and it’s so well arranged.

The fourth one makes me giggle, you don’t necessarily need to understand the language, its point is made.

The last four ones are a gorgeous use of black and white. I love the Bernie Wrightson illustrations for Frankenstein.

A month ago, I went to see the Comics exhibition at Centre Pompidou in Paris. I stayed around 3 hours there taking so many pictures. There are loads of different artists and it’s layed out showing different thematics, from marvel comics to horror. Really enjoyed it

Went to see a Yasuhiro Ishimoto exhibition at the Bal photo gallery in Paris, Des Lignes et des Corps. I thoroughly enjoyed it, there weren’t many people about and was very quiet. I really like this gallery, when i go see their exhibition, it’s always thought provoking.

I didn’t know the artist, I don’t think I did. i love the high contrasts and the lines juxtaposing.

There’s not much to say about art, i really like starring.

I’m starting illustration school tomorrow and we already have our first assignment.
