"Current border barrier construction threatens 165 miles of this extraordinary cultural landscape: 84, or one-third, of the known rock art sites lie south of the proposed barrier, making them inaccessible for monitoring, documentation, and scientific research, and at least 15 sites are in the path of construction or associated infrastructure and face destruction or severe damage. "

Two distinct banding centers in one piece — red and burgundy bands at the top, warm amber and cream at the bottom, separated by blue-gray chalcedony and iron-stained rind. The open vug cuts right through the upper zone, exposing raw interior matrix. This one found a great home. 🪨
