have they made a term yet for "I don't ship these two characters, I don't like them together in a relationship and think they are bad for each other, but I do believe they're together or at least hooking up. like in canon. I'm not happy about it but I know it's happening" ???
We should talk about how fondly Claudia looked at Steve when he jumped up and carried on cheering for Dustin.
Or how her expression was giving, ‘Yeah, baby! Fuck the system!’ during her son’s speech.
That's because obviously Steve got adopted by Claudia. That's her son as well. 😌
My favourite thing about the Steve-Dustin friendship is that Dustin randomly stole Steve from the streets in broad daylight one day, and he's been stuck mothering a number of children ever since...
Sorry, I actually cannot stop thinking about the implications of Dustin saying “you always try to get yourself killed.” Because while that’s been seen in canon, with Steve always putting himself on the front line to protect the kids, it’s something else to have Dustin notice it. It’s giving “I see your suicidal tendencies and please god I cannot lose another friend.” I just. Steve Harrington means so much to me as a person—and the fact that we have an active moment in canon where someone calls him out on his SI??? Especially when all season, people have been just shitting on him. It makes me cry.
SPEAK ON IT!
Video
Jonathan kissing his brother on the cheek and these hugs mean so much yall
Stranger things season 5 is legitimately one of the worst seasons of television ever to publicly air. And then there'll be a scene with joe keery and gaten or sadie and caleb and it feels like you're watching fucking succession with the difference in acting quality compared to everyone else
Mike wheeler always at the crime scene
the hug after the coming out scene shows who Will ACTUALLY wanted there 😭
If there is ANYTHING reinforced by stranger things 5 it’s that Dustin has some kind of found family aura luring people in that even the military should fear.
Like s1 Mike is fully willing to die for him
s2 steve sees him and they just latch onto each other now brothers for life and Nancy dances with him at the snowball so he won’t be alone. He breaks through the power of the hive mind by caring for dart and he dies after sparing him in the tunnels
s3 robin and steve sacrifice themselves by getting captured by the Russians to give him and Erica the chance to run gaining a fellow nerd in Erica who latches onto him too
s4 you have Eddie dying to save him and older brother-ing his way into his life
And s5 we see how his science teacher is willing to throw everything he was doing out of the window to go make a telemetry tracker at the chance he may be in danger with no evidence to prove it??
He is simply too powerful
steve’s hand on robin’s shoulder is so important to me
Steve is MAD at Eddie for dying. He's mad. He's mad at what it's done to Dustin and mad he lost a friend. That fight was so well done. Dustin isn't capable of hearing those things but he needs to. He has to. And Steve is tired. How many times has he tried to talk about this to Dustin only to be rebuffed and insulted? Ugh they put two of their strongest actors and gave them the plotline of a lifetime.
Reviewbombing an episode that, while not perfect, would absolutely never have such a low rating if not for coordinated fandom action, based on mass delusion about an alleged sum of footage that was cut thats essentially someone's twitter fanfic, is crazy. This has been the most embarassing time since I've ever been a fan of this show
You know despite the attention he's had most of his life, I truly do think that that conversation with Dustin was the probably first time in his life Steve Harrington ever felt truly and utterly irreplaceable and precious to someone else. Imagine thinking that you're mostly just the guy who's there to take the hits (and yes your friends do love you but you think they'd learn to be ok without you eventually) to then be HIT with the reality that someone's world would simply crumble without you in it. Dustin and Steve you shine brighter than all the stars in the sky I am so serious
Mike jumped off the cliff and Steve fought demon dogs and bats and Russians and Eddie died all to protect Dustin and I just-
That’s gotta fuck up your perception of relationships, right? Can someone check on him?
In retrospect this post has me feeling both very vindicated and very sad
