Republicans are sad. Broken. Abused. Rather than work hard to win elections, they would rather steal.
U.S. is worst among developed nations for worker benefits
Americans get less generous employee benefits than residents of peer countries, as judged by factors like healthcare and vacation days, acco
*** Highest recommendation. ***
"The U.S. ranks last among industrialized countries relative to employee benefits like healthcare, paid leave, vacation days, unemployment and retirement."
Not even remotely surprising.
This is what you get when you deliberately teach four generations in a row that capitalism only exists in a democracy, that socialism equals dictatorship, and that all unions except police unions are bad for the nation.
Far-right One America News must pay $258,391.50 in legal fees to MSNBC."A federal judge in California has ordered Herring Networks, the parent company of far-right conservative media organization One America News Network (OAN), to pay MSNBC and host Rachel Maddow $250,000 in attorney's fees stemming...
MADDOW FTW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maddow said that OAN is Russian psyops. OAN yelled about that, and tried to sue MSNBC for defamation. They lost their case, so now it’s official that “OAN is Russian psyops” is not defamation. And that OAN owes them their lawyer’s fees back as a countersuit. So, officially it’s a frivolous suit for OAN to claim that they’re not Russian psyops.
The new ultra-conservative majority appeared to radically expand “religious liberty” at the expense of public health.
Late on Friday night, the Supreme Court blocked California’s public health ban on indoor religious services in a splintered 6–3 decision that augurs a major shift in the law of religious liberty. Justice Elena Kagan’s extraordinary dissent accused her conservative colleagues of endangering lives by overruling public health officials and potentially facilitating the spread of COVID-19. But the court’s new conservative majority ignored her warning—and, in the process, gave itself new powers to strike down alleged burdens on religious freedom. The Supreme Court effectively tossed out decades of case law in a late-night emergency order, unsettling precedent that states have relied upon to craft COVID restrictions. As Kagan sharply noted, Friday’s order “injects uncertainty into an area where uncertainty has human costs.”
“This is their best chance to put a stake through Donald Trump’s political future," said Sarah Longwell, founder of Republican Voters Against Trump.
Republican strategist Sarah Longwell warned Thursday that Donald Trump will control the GOP for the next decade if Senate Republicans don’t vote to convict the former president for inciting the deadly U.S. Capitol riot.
Longwell, who founded the Republican Voters Against Trump group that before the election released ads featuring rank-and-file members revealing why they’d ditched the party, told CNN’s Don Lemon that GOP lawmakers should “get past” their fear of Trump because “this impeachment vote is their off-ramp.”
“It’s ‘not just dangerous for the Republican Party,’ she cautioned, but ‘an existential threat to the country to have one of the two major political parties controlled by people who are out there spreading conspiracy theories.’
”'And I’m not talking about Marjorie Taylor Greene,’ Longwell clarified. ‘I’m talking about (House GOP Minority Leader) Kevin McCarthy and (Florida GOP Rep.) Matt Gaetz and so many others in Congress who voted to object to a free and fair election, who told voters that it was stolen from them, who followed [t]rump and it led to a violent attack on the Capitol.’“
