Elizabeth's Neighborhood Table in the UWS feels more like a beachside bed and breakfast than a NYC restaurant. The sweet and savory brunch options are made with organic, locally sourced ingredients. The decor was reminiscent of ocean water and sandy beaches, complete with a white picket fence, a large porch swing, and cookbooks scattered around the space. Being there felt like a mini escape from the City, even if just for a couple of hours.

We finally tried Kissaten Jin after months of walking by the adorable cafe. We ordered the bento box special, which included a variety of delicious flavors and ingredients, the most exotic being the kimpira (burdock with lotus root). We also ordered the Oyako Don chicken rice bowl. The portions were generous and the atmosphere was cozy, warm, and friendly. I highly recommend it!

The Chelsea Market is one of my favorite places to go on the weekends. There are so many unique eateries and shops to explore. Los Tacos No. 1 had some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. The chicken, steak, guac, and chips were perfection. I tried horchata for the first time. Not really my thing, but glad I got to try it. I was blown away by all of the different teas in one of the shops. Can I have one of each please?

We needed a bite to eat before a comedy show in the LES and found one of our new favorite restaurants. Once again, Yelp came through. Lil Frankie’s is an adorably eclectic restaurant that serves fresh Italian cuisine and authentic Neapolitan pizza. I saw a photo of La Pala, a half calzone and half margherita pizza, online and was disappointed that it wasn’t on the menu. Luckily the waiter and chef were kind enough to make it for me anyways. I’ve never eaten anything like it! It was heaven on a plate and I can’t wait to go back.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat in Hell's Kitchen and stumbled upon Sfilatino Italian Gourmet. I honestly wasn't expecting much since it looked a bit touristy, but this cozy cafe really surprised me. The egg omelet croissant sandwich and soppressata and sun-dried tomato sandwich were so fresh and delicious. I loved the charming presentation and wooden platters our meals came out on. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for quick and light fare. I would suggest they play Italian music instead of the random pop songs for a more authentic ambiance.

On Valentine's Day, we went to Gotham West Market to check out a recent trend in the restaurant industry—spatial collaboration and communal dining. This Hell's Kitchen market offers diverse cuisine in a warm and cozy atmosphere. We shared a buttermilk fried chicken and apple/celeriac slaw sandwich, a fried green tomato and fried egg BLT, and a Mexican Coke from Genuine Roadside. Yes, it tastes better than regular Coke. Next time I want to try the Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop and the Choza Taqueria.

After a long day of exploring NYC, we were in desperate need of sustenance. We were craving Peruvian food but had trouble finding a restaurant on Yelp. Luckily, we decided to try Leña Latin Grill. This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Okay, so I may say that every time I eat, but I really mean it this time. The steak is super flavorful, especially topped with the chimichurri sauce. The plantains are crispy and sweet, and the yuca fries have a nice crunch to them. My only complaint would be that the cilantro rice isn't as flavorful as it sounds. We've gone here at least 3 times since. Too bad we live too far to Seamless it.

My sisters have been raving about Eggspectation for a while and I finally got to experience this amazing breakfast paradise. The veggie omelet and Lyonnaise-style potatoes were cooked to perfection, but my favorite part of this meal was the chocolate chip, warm pear, walnut, powdered sugar, and whipped cream–topped pancakes.

If you're ever craving New Orleans style food, Bo's is the perfect restaurant. Although nothing can substitute actually being in New Orleans, the food and ambiance at this Flatiron spot definitely transported us back to one of our favorite destinations. The steak and pumpkin cake were incredible!

The below freezing temperatures in NYC has me daydreaming about sunny Jamaica. Pizza poolside is always a good idea, but this desert pizza took it to the next level. Warm spiced peaches stuffed inside of pizza dough drizzled with chocolate and raisins. I want to go back just for this meal!

When it's cold outside there's nothing better than a hot bowl of oatmeal to warm you up. We went to Oatmeals in the Village after reading a ton of positive reviews. I'm so glad we did. This cozy little place has sweet and savory oatmeal combinations and I hard a hard time making a selection. I ended up getting the peanut butter and honey combo. SO GOOD. I can't wait to try their savory Thai oatmeal next. #NYC #oatmeal #breakfast

So far, Flat Top is my favorite restaurant in NYC. I've never been disappointed with the food, drinks, and ambiance. I love that they give you mini brownies at the end of each meal. I can't wait to go back!

We waited in line for about an hour for this meal at The Grey Dog in Chelsea. Surprisingly, the potatoes were my favorite, not the pancakes! Even though brunch was delicious, I don't think I'd wait in that line again.

One of my goals after finishing B school is to cook more often. This week was an epic one in the kitchen. We made steak frites, tacos, and chicken noodle soup. I'm looking forward to trying out more recipes!

We decided go run on Riverside Park by the Hudson River. We ended up covering 100 blocks! Needless to say we were starving by the time we finished. Luckily there was this cute little diner nearby called Old John's Luncheonette that had THE BEST pancakes. I wish I ordered more than one. Definitely getting a full stack next time.

After a long day in SoHo, we stopped by Amelia's Diner in Tribeca for some lunch. I got the marinated chicken pita sandwich. It was so delicious!
