The music video to Daft Punk’s “Da Funk” (1996). Directed by Spike Jonze.

One of those videos that was on heavy rotation when I was a student, up and about at night, smoking, reading, doing things. Whenever it was on, I stopped whatever I was doing and watched. I can still cite parts of it. I remember browsing book stores, looking for “Big City Nights”.

(Years later, misremembering the title, I bought “Bright Lights, Big City” thinking it was that.)

Random elements dictate the story of the video. The protagonist, Charles, a dog with a broken leg, walks around in NY with a radio that can’t be turned off. He runs into a childhood friend at a supermarket. They agree to have dinner, but then, to his horror, Charles can’t leave on the same bus as she because radios aren’t allowed on it: and so, they are torn apart again.

Some things simply resonate with you and you can’t quite tell why: this is one of them.

Hey everyone! I’m no reviewer but I’d like to share this awesome Maschinen Krieger set with you. These kits if I’m not mistaken are made from scratch build molds from Kow Yokoyama. They’re either manufactured by Wave or Hasegawa. The series is set in a dystopian post nuclear war setting on earth. These kits are very cool but I don’t much about them 🤔. The box art is very cool and resembles that of 1950’s style packaging. Here are some pictures of what you get in the box (WATERSLIDES YES!). I wanted to try out something new and build more kits outside of Gunpla. MaK sets seem to be released in small waves however.
