it was weird to jaewon to see his half-sister playing so contentedly with his daughter without even knowing just who the child was. there was no way that jaewon was letting the younger female know that the baby was his and not the child of a relative who had needed their assistance in babysitting. truth be told, any person in their right mind would likely easily figure out the lies, but it seemed that byeol was too pre-occupied with the child to really care. “careful!” he exclaimed as he watched her swoop the toddler into her arms, even though that wasn’t going to hurt the baby or anything. he was very sensitive to everything that was done to jaekyung, even if he knew that there was nothing “out of the ordinary” that the other had just done. to him, she was just too small and too tiny to not handle with incredible caution. as the other were trying to get jaekyung to say her name, the baby just replied back with gurgly giggles. “she’s cute, hm?”
❛ chill out, oppa !! i’m good with babies, i promise. ❜ perhaps it’s because she is a baby herself. it makes sense. ❛ you little rascal. you’ll say my name next time i see you, yeah ?? byeol. byeeeeooool. ❜ she put emphasis on her name by elongating, giving the baby a couple ticklish pokes here and there. jaekyung, of course, only replied with giggles and smiles; it made byeol smile and giggle as well. ❛ really cute. too cute to believe. i can tell she’s gonna be super duper pretty when she grows up, ❜ she replied to the male while patting the baby’s stomach softly. for a reason unknown, the trainee felt strangely attached to the small child despite having no relation to her. it’s probably just her love for babies taking over.
with knowledge of the next morning free from practice, jiyeon had spent the late night and earliest morning hours in galaxy’s practice rooms, knowing she had the ability to just sleep in later –– which now didn’t seem like much of an option. in response to byeol’s disturbance, the sleeping jiyeon woke up almost fully, moaning and groaning as she felt the presence near her. ❝ byeollie.. what .. what is this?? ❞ absent-minded, she spoke in almost a whisper, her voice slightly raspy. but she didn’t actually care if the fellow trainee was there or not. this happened regularly, and by now the teen had gotten used to this behavior from her best friend. cuddling into her, jiyeon grabbed byeol’s hand and held it as she began to close her eyes once more. ❝ what time is it? ❞
❛ shh... just let it happen... ❜ she whisper-teased, already making herself comfortable on the other’s mattress. it’s like her own bed at this point when you consider how often byeol does this to jiyeon in the morning, free day or not. ❛ seven twenty something. too early. sleep, ❜ she replied before snuggling into her back. she gave the older girl a tight squeeze. ❛ have you lost weight, unnie ?? you’re so skinny. you gotta eat more. ❜ she emphasized her point by poking the other’s stomach, but not too hard as to wake her up completely. ❛ we can get something to eat later, if you want. ❜
SO SCHOOL HAS finally calmed down a lil bit but i’ve got a wedding to go to today, so replies will be held off until i come back either late tonight or tmrw!
wow, even hearing byeol say his name could make his stomach twist and butterflies appear. he really was a sucker for the other trainee. he was happy though, that he was finally able to be a bit more comfortable with byeol, which was evident in the way seohyung moved closer to the girl, and nudging her shoulder with his own. “ i think you look pretty freaky - with the way they edited your eyes.” seo teases, a laugh escaping his lips. “ i’m kidding - you look really cute too.”
photobooth pictures have always been one of byeol’s favorite trinkets. if she could, she’d spend her entire trainee allowance on just that, even if the pictures came out a little funky sometimes. it’s really about the person or people you take the pictures with, and in this case, byeol was extremely fond of her photobooth partner. ❛ cute. right. ❜ she coughed, suddenly feeling very bashful at the little compliment. she tried to stop the blood from rising to her face but failed miserably as her cheeks tinted pink. it’s quite easy for her to call him cute, but as soon as he does the same to her, all hell breaks loose.

❛ hey there, little baby !! ❜ byeol cooed, instantly swooping the toddler into her arms upon laying eyes on her. everyone loves babies, even if they say they don’t, and yoo byeol is no exception. it’s a funny sight, to say the least --- it’s a baby holding another baby, cooing and giggling happily at each others’ playful antics. being a trainee means seeing the same people, all around her age or older, every single day. while byeol is happy with her relationships with friends, it’s nice to be seeing someone outside of that circle. ❛ you’re a cute one, aren’t ya ?? ❜ she said, placing the child down and taking a seat on the floor with her. byeol and jaewon may share the same blood, but it’s only been about a year since she received the news of her mother’s past marriage. the atmosphere between the two half-siblings is awkward at most, and while jaewon is probably mature enough ( as an adult and all ) to handle this kind of situation without freaking out, byeol has been unable to process it so sensibly. jaekyung being present has eased the tense atmosphere tremendously. ❛ my name is yoo byeol. byeol unnie --- can you say that, jaekyung-ah ?? byeol unnie !! ❜
it’s seven in the morning, byeol is just waking up, and for the first time in forever there isn’t any required trainee practices to be at. everyone will need to report back to the training building this evening, and normally byeol would already be there right now to get extra practice in. while she was planning on doing so, after staying up until three am finishing up school work, she realized that would not be a good idea whatsoever unless she wanted to fall asleep in one of the practice rooms during the day. and, as expected of the sixteen ( soon to be seventeen ) child of the dorm, byeol found herself climbing into jiyeon’s bed upon just after opening her eyes. sleeping alone is so not fun. ❛ don’t mind me, ❜ she sang, cuddling into her friend’s back and throwing a leg over hers. ❛ just getting comfortable !! ❜
while anyone who didn’t know byeol would think she’s just another trainee of crystal media, anyone else would know better. yoo byeol is, actually, a trainee under galaxy entertainment and is currently trekking pretty foreign ground. granted she’s only walking past the training building entrance and not actually inside, but anybody can be quick to assume. she was just on her way to a nearby cafe, eyes focused on fixing the bow of her school uniform, when the tall trainee walked straight into the other. fortunately nobody was hurt, but she did immediately start apologizing, bowing respectfully and barely getting a glimpse of the person she bumped into. ❛ ah, i’m so sorry !! are you okay ?? ❜

SUBJECT: yoo byeol is no math whiz.
yoo byeol, mentally and physically tired after a long day of high school classes, dragged herself into the dorm while letting the metal door swing shut behind her. the automatic electric lock resonated a loud beep throughout the silence, indicating the door was locked and also that she was home alone with none of her dormmates calling out to greet her. in one glove-clad hand was a cup of hot chocolate (bout on the way home), and in the other hand was a stack of text and workbooks from school. unlike some of the other students at sopa, byeol was excused to leave right after class instead of heading to cram school or study hall --- a perk of being a trainee.
math. ah, the most dreaded subject among many sixteen year olds attending high school. many idols and trainees are enrolled in seoul school of performing arts, so most of them often receive leniency from the curriculum or have specially designed assignments and/or placements in special classes to help them receive their educational credits through their hectic schedules. byeol is extremely thankful for this, and because of it she’s been able to keep her grades up while juggling her trainee life at the same time. as ceo moon puts it, education is just as important as training. but education has always been a top priority of byeol’s since before becoming a trainee, so by now it’s a solid part of her life just like training is.
however, math is simply not her forte. the fact that she’s even at the pre-calculus level speaks volumes, especially since many high school first years are taking a math class lower than she is. she is above average already with all her courses, which byeol is extremely proud (and maybe even a little cocky, but only internally) about, since her parents always made such a big deal about education taking her to places that her idol life can’t. when her debut is a thing of the past, her group disbands, and her fanbase is no more than just a few thousand people following her on instagram, her good marks and schooling will be the backbone of her next career. and yoo byeol always worked hard at this plan b.
there are currently no other trainees in the dorm due it being the middle of the afternoon, and it would only make sense for them to all be at the training building to practice. in fact, now would be a good time for byeol to follow suit and hit the practice rooms as well.
but the test sitting in her backpack, with a big red score of 64/100 proves herself otherwise. 64 percent ?? that’s a straight D grade, yoo byeol. and it doesn’t help the fact that she already has a C+ in the class (again, math is not her forte).
thank the lord her math teacher gave her the option of a retake, which wasn’t much of an option for byeol if she wanted at least a B- in the class. “meet me here in class after school next monday,” the nice lady told her, then proceeded to pat the trainee on her shoulder. “i know you can do better than this, byeol-ah.”
but next monday means there is only three days left to study, which may sound like a lot of time to others but not so much for our yoo byeol here. she has to train, she needs to meet up with the staff for her weekly allowance, a new trainee asked her to help go over the new choreography, and there are just too many things to do and so little time to do them all !!
a somber, distressed sigh left the young girl’s lips as she quite literally dragged her backpack into her bedroom. and in less than five minutes, she was sitting at the desk in the corner, pulling out her pencil pouch and a few extra math review packets to study for that darn test.
“ byeol-ah!” the vocal trainee bounced over towards his fellow trainee, photo stickers in his hands. “look i found the ones we took in the summer.” he explains, pressing one of the papers into her hands. “ i think you should keep a few!”
❛ seohyung-ah !! ❜ she greeted him, voice equally as cheerful if not more. it’s actually been awehil since she’s last seen him ( if you count a few days as awhile ) and she’s happy to be in contact once more. ❛ oh my gosh, look at this, ❜ she said, pointing at a particular picture where the two were sporting devil horns. satan’s spawn, maybe ?? probably. ❛ you look so cute !! ❜ it’s a harmless little compliment, one that comes out almost naturally now. she used to be unable to properly look him in the eye and now the two are doing this, looking at photo stickers they took together.
“ hurry upppp! ” nancy chimes, politely knocking on the bathroom door where she was currently waiting on byeol to finish getting ready for the day out. a trip to hongdae was certainly in store, and of course the elder female was intent on spoiling the trainee. ( it would be completely uncharacteristic of nancy NOT to. ) she reaches into her bag to pull her chapstick from the bottom, uncapping it to apply to her lips.
“ do you want to stop and get some coffee? or tea? whatever you want! maybe a cake if you’re lucky!”
there’s just something about being doted on that byeol loves. being treated as the youngest ( which she is ) and the baby of the galaxy trainee group was something she originally expected to hate, but overtime ( if you ignore all the little errands she’s run on and sometimes the butts of jokes she ends up being ) it’s become more a loving thing than all else. she’ll never admit it out loud, but the attention --- that’s what she lives for. ❛ tea sounds amazing !! bubble tea, maybe ?? there’s this new shop that just opened up around the corner, unnie, have you heard of it ?? ❜ she jumped up and down, already hooking an arm into the other’s.
