every moment on set is an in-your-face reminder of just why she’s decided to not deal with dramas. a few episodes just for the sake of maintaining her relevancy is by no means as bad as a full on commitment would be, but now that she’s tasted the serious realism of real movie-making there’s no shaking the sense of futility that comes with this level of production. but jaeyoung spending most of her time in her dressing room is not exactly anything new; she’s always on her phone, replying to e-mails, doing something. they don’t bother her, and she shows up for her scenes. it’s not ideal, but it works.
so when the door opens and someone enters, she assumes it to be a staff member that didn’t get the memo that she’s not available, and won’t be anytime soon; she initially assumes that they’ll address her, eventually, and makes a decision to not face the intruder until they state their intentions aloud.
but lo and behold; a familiar voice breaks the silence, and a hand down her back has her inhale sharply in surprise. she turns to face kyungjae (of course it’s kyungjae) just in time for the grand reveal. for once, she’s not as quick with her words.
“un. real.” she mumbles, looking him up and down, examining this very anticlimactic get-up of his with a coy smile. it’s always nice to see some sophistication in his approach, even if she knows from experience that his cause is nowhere near noble. “you could’ve just told me. but i’m not busy right now, no— thank you for asking.”
suppose it wouldn’t really have changed anything though— if anything, she might have told him not to come bother her at work instead. but here he is, here they are. entitlement never fails to create tension. then again, it’s very in line with his general way of conducting himself to make things difficult for her. he’s consistent, she’ll give him that.
jaeyoung tilts her head to the side, leaning back against the table behind her, just sort of looking up at him with an undecided half-smile on her face.
“you didn’t really come here just to say hi, did you?”
“HELLO TO YOU, too,” was what he mumbled out as his shrugged off his jacket ( because wow, it was getting hot in there ... or was that just him? ) eyes roamed around the trailer, settling on the few objects that were scattered here and there: clothes sprawled amongst the sparse chairs and couches in the area, make-up aligned with the mirror of the vanity, scripts and other packets of paper stacked atop the coffee table ... so this was what it was like to be an actor, huh?
“you sure are livin’ the life now, huh jae?” he mused aloud, hand just barely ghosting away from the small of her back as he backed up a step or two. his feet led him to wander around the room, fingers poking and prodding at random materials here and there he found with the slightest intrigue. “a whole trailer all to yourself? --- didn’t know how out-of-my-league you were.” the statement only arrived with a smirk, however, as he waltzed in his return back to her presence, hands unconsciously reaching out to brush against her sides before slightly gripping her hips as he tugged her ever so closer.
“since when have i ever wanted to just say hi?” he echoed, eyes now hooding over with the lust he first embarked with as he gazed down at her. his right hand moved from the length of her body to lightly brush a strand of hair behind her ear, his fingers lazily remaining thereafter before softly cupping her chin to tilt her own head up to look at him.
“unless you just want me to say hi, then i can always just go. of course. you are working right now, if i remember correctly.” a grin only pulled at the corner of his lips as he said that, however, as he knew full-and-well that there existed no chance that jaeyoung would turn him away when he arrived at such a prime and opportune time. ( sure, baek kyungjae knew how to push jaeyoung’s buttons, but he pushed certain buttons that also happened to turn her on. )
“your door has a lock on it, right?”
