Mustafa Mattan graduated with a degree in health sciences, and moved to Fort McMurry, Alberta three weeks ago in search of a job. His family remembers him as a quiet man who encouraged youth to leave gang life, encouraged honesty in others, and taught at the Ottawa Islamic School. 

On Monday, he was answering a knock on his apartment door when he was shot and killed. There is yet no suspect or motive in his case.
