Agent Provocateur Soiree Corset and Brief. I am a lucky girl, who is blessed to know some pretty amazing people. This set was a gift from my gorgeous friend Kyara, who no doubt would’ve been the definition of platinum blonde bombshell in this corset and brief from AP’s demi-couture line. Luckily for, well, basically only me, she handed it over to yours truly to give a strawberry shortcake spin on the pale pink and minty-gold lace combo. The quality and details on this are amazing. The fabric is sheer, but heavy, high-quality lace. There are delicate pink bows with teardrop crystal centres where the garters attach to the corset and this combined with the lace ruffle of the hem are pretty much the peak of luxury. The sizing is quite small compared to my pieces from other labels and even AP mainline’s notoriously tiny cuts of late. This is a 3 (UK12/US8) in the corset and 2 (UK10/US6) in the brief and they fit snugly. The cup is actually a pretty good size for me (for a piece that is not band/cup sized) and considering there is no boning in the cup either and the fabric is sheer/unpadded, I’m amazed it actually holds up without the detachable straps. AP corsets are not as ‘cinchy’ as the more hardcore variety from specialist corset makers but they do have enough boning and strong enough ties to give an authentic corseted shape. This Soiree piece in lace cinches more dramatically than a satin corset I have from the regular AP line. The briefs are a beautiful and basic low bikini cut with string hip that is both comfortable and matches perfectly. This set is definitely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever worn and mind you, it is reflected in it’s cost. But if money is no object, or if you want something stunning to invest in, I’d recommend.
