(+ the ghosts of those who are long gone, because the family would be incomplete without them.)
its finally here!! let's pretend all of them could at least pose together for the family portrait we never had š
OKAY there are a couple of things to unpack here because this may seem like a lot. im gonna pause and explain so nobody gets lost:
⢠first picture: from left to right: john, henry jr. (harry), james (jemmy), mary eleanor (polly) and martha (patsy). they're the main five siblings who were together for the longest and that were alive until 1775. ( pre-september though, before jemmy's death :( ).
i decided to use gold to symbolize the living, and on top of the painting i included the flowers that represent each sibling. you can find a sunflower (john), plum blossoms (patsy), corianders (harry) a hyacinth (jemmy) and sweet peas (polly).
⢠second picture: this one includes the ghosts of the family members who passed away before 1775 (i didn't include the babies because that would've been *a lot* of people). so, the kids on the corners are henry jr. the first (henri) on john's side, eleanor jr. (nelly) on patsy's side, elias (eli) on the bottom of the pictuee and eleanor ball in the middle (their mother who passed away in 1770) . elias, even though he was boy, is wearing the dresses infants used to wear during the 18th century. eli died when he was ~3 years old so he would've still worn an infant's dress.
in this case, instead of gold i used white. and now, the flowers in the picture represent the other members, the ghosts. there are morning glories (henri), magnolias (nelly), a daisy (elias) and carnations (eleanor).
so thats all for now! if you made it til this far, im proud of u oofš
