(( Okay. I've freed the urls of these blogs just in case anyone uses them, because I doubt they'd get freed on their own, since they're tied to my personal blog. Every character I wrote for this universe (Fire Man, Flash Man, Mikhail, and Time Man here) is being continued in a different continuity elsewhere (though I'm not very active over there either). I know you don’t like me very much but I still think you deserve a present like everyone else. Merry Christmas Time Man.
Time Man almost didn't notice the plushie placed outside the door to his room. When he did see it, he was perplexed, as he didn't think someone would go out of their way to make a doll out of him. He picked it up and examined it before looking at the note on the back...
His hands began to shake as he learned just who this was from. Did Kalinka think she was being cute? Did she think that he simply didn't like her very much, after what she did to him? No, forgiveness wasn't coming to her, not now, not ever, and especially not in the form of a doll. The only thing preventing him from destroying the thing was the fact that just about everyone else still seemed to like her, so instead he hurled it at a wall and stomped off.
He had work to do today anyway.
Saving Time
The reluctance went ignored. More important things were happening, like some vague semblance of affection from the baby. It was about the best he could probably reasonably think Time Man knew how to do, considering- well. As previously stated, either this gesture was usually returned with nothing or a punch to the face. This was preferable by far.
Oil Man wrapped his arms around Time Man, for a moment pausing the hugging gesture for the sake of taking off his brother’s helmet and placing it on the repair table. That would certainly make things a lot easier, considering the giant bells that would otherwise be in the way. Afterwards he went to cradling his little brother in the warmest embrace he could give.
Hugging might’ve seemed like a foreign science to Time Man, but to Oil Man it was a natural skill. Just tight enough to be protective, but not enough to suffocate (although smothering him like that was not uncommon). Placed so that Time’s head could position itself easily to nuzzle into him, and Oil could easily turn his head to kiss the top of his head. After a moment or two it would tighten, from emotional surge more than anything.
Wow, had he really wanted to hug the baby after all this.
So he took advantage while he could. He wasn’t going to let go until the baby said so, though that was less out of consideration for Time Man and more to keep it as long as possible and stall if possible. Or else it seemed he might lose him again.
The only protest Oil Man was met with was a mild grimace as he took off Time Man’s helmet, but he kept silent, even when he found himself wrapped up in his brother’s arms with a kiss on his head. He assumed this was all a comforting gesture, but he didn’t know what to make of it himself. Was it supposed to feel good, or was it supposed to be replusive? For the moment, the line seemed blurred, and all he was left with was an unanswered question.
Befitting the fact that Time Man didn’t fully understand hugs, he didn’t know how long they should last either. Oil Man had been hugging him for about ten seconds now, was that enough? He thought they weren’t supposed to last long, but he wasn’t sure now.
"How long is this supposed to last?" Time Man asked with a slight tone of awkwardness in his voice. He felt a little embarrassed about asking, but he didn’t know the answer, and there was only one way to find out.
People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of a fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.

Saving Time
Some weapon adjustments and minor repairs? Oil Man bought that easily. After all, since Time Man had managed to keep it from him thus far, Oil Man wouldn’t be figuring out that anything more major was wrong anytime soon. So he nodded. “Once he’s got some rest, I’ll tell ‘im t’call you back in to fix all that up. In the meantime, y’need rest, too. The time it took t’ repair you don’t count.” And in all this, Oil Man noted that he needed rest, too- but honestly that didn’t matter as much. Time came first. Always.
Upon hearing the ‘thank you’, Oil Man smiled. It felt nice- great, actually, that Time Man appreciated the this. …Was this the first time Time Man was thanking him? It definitely meant the world to him, either way, because it at least felt like this had never happened before.
Since this was going well so far, Oil Man decided to try one more thing. He opened his arms, giving a clear gesture for wanting a hug. He didn’t really expect Time Man to take it, but at the same time, he hadn’t expected to be thanked, either. Maybe it would be worth pushing his luck.
Time Man looked mildly annoyed at the fact that he was going to be forced to get some rest. As much as he knew he needed it, what he wanted was a distraction. He didn’t want to think about what had just happened to him, and the best way to do that was to give himself something to do. He supposed if be had to, he could just make schedule after schedule for when he was allowed to do something - which would be tomorrow. He was not going to keep himself from work for long.
"Fine," Time Man grumbled, although there was the smallest hint of rebellion in his tone. His rest wouldn’t last long.
Time Man’s mildly annoyed expression became a slightly confused one when he saw Oil Man open his arms. Oh… he wanted a hug. He wasn’t sure if he should take it, and he wasn’t even sure how to return the gesture. Sure, it was just a hug, but… how did one hug? Was there anything special to it? Did you just wrap your arms around the person? How tightly? Or was it supposed to be gentle? Where did you wrap your arms? What even are hugs?
Slowly, Time Man approached Oil Man. While he wasn’t going to be receiving any hugs today, the smaller DLN rested his head on his older brother’s shoulder for a moment before nuzzling his face into his neck. There wouldn’t be any hugs today, but it was a step up from how things usually went, which was either nothing or a punch to the face.
Saving Time
Oil Man felt a little better hearing some relief in his brother’s voice. Considering how hard it was to get anything out of the little kid? It felt almost like an achievement, except for the part where Time Man had to be viciously brutalized for it to happen. Hopefully next time that WOULDN’T have to happen first before the baby revealed an emotion other than ‘irritated’ or ‘angry’.
"Y’know you’re important t’me, right?" the older DLN said. "And I know you don’t got a reason t’lie about something like this. So I’ll do whatever I can t’make sure you’re safe." Oil Man had no problems reminding Time Man of this- especially now that it actually mattered. He could’ve said this until the cows came home.
In any case, Oil Man continued. “Anythin’ hurting, baby? The doc probably has a few minor things he needs t’ take care of still. I might as well know so I can remind him when he gets to finish up those repairs. …” He paused. “… I guess I don’t need t’ tell ya you were in real bad shape when I found you.”
Time Man was tempted to take in a deep breath to help cool his systems, but he refrained from doing so. Again, he was quite shocked that he was being taken seriously, even though Kalinka would be the last person anyone would suspect. Oil Man had always told him he was important to him somehow, but it had gained a bit more meaning now that he was backing it up with an action. The fact that his brother trusted him to tell the truth, even if it sounded ridiculous, was also a shocker. He sorely underestimated how much the older DLN cared for his baby brother. “Right,” he said, sounding as firm as he could.
"… Anything…" Time Man paused for a moment, considering just what to tell his brother. He could tell him that Dr. Light had yet to finish his systems, that he was still incomplete and in dire need of finishing. This would be the perfect time to do so, and Oil Man trusted him to tell the truth. Knowing this made it significantly harder to hide it, but in the end, he said nothing of it. "My weapon needs some adjustment and tune ups, and aside from minor repairs, nothing more."
"… I… Thank you, Oil Man…" Time Man said quietly. It was hard to thank his brother for anything, but he figured he may as well show he appreciated it just a little.

Time Man had stopped writing, his handwriting having turned sloppy and illegible. Tears dripped down his cheek and onto the paper, ruining the ink and making it even more impossible to read. He put down the pen and slowly crumbled up the paper, whimpering as he tossed it aside and put his head down. He wouldn't be coming out for a while.

Time Man stared at the plush of his brother that now rested in his hand with a seemingly blank expression. He had expected to feel nothing toward it, as it was simply a doll that mimicked his deceased brother, but instead he felt synthetic tears pricking at his eyes as he was overwhelmed with emotion. It had become harder to suppress how he felt, but it didn't stop him from trying to hide at least some of his emotions.
Time Man carefully wrapped the plush in his arms and rocked in just a little, his lips quivering as he held back a sob.
"...Th..."
He didn't finished what he was saying, and he couldn't anyway. It would be best if he was left alone for a while.

Time Man crumpled up the paper and threw it out. He was not sending that to Dr. Light, no he was not.

Ahhh, there he is! He’d figured his ungrateful older brother would show up eventually. Looks like his snarking about tardiness had one the trick… Or maybe not. But who cared? He had another playmate, didn’t he? The corrupt hero watches Time Man send his message, noting the erratic glow to his brother’s hands— Though he wouldn’t be able to do anything about it… Yet.
The Time Slow takes effect, catching the Blue Bomber by surprise once he’s finds himself moving again with his brother right in his face and error messages popping up right, left, and center due to what—- What appeared to be a clock hand in his left optic. Ignore it for now… C’mon, ignore it… Letting out a snarl, he jabs a now-sparking finger into Time Man’s chest and wards off all the damage warnings.
"Did you really think you’d have a chance against me, big bro? I mean, yeah, slowing down time is really useful… But you’re incomplete. One good hit and it’s toast for you. Don’t worry, I’ll tell Oil Man you tried your very hardest… Not that you’d really care anyways, huh? You’re so ungrateful! I can’t believe he wastes his time on you…”
That’s the reprogramming talking, red eyes gleaming as Rock lets fire with a laugh. At this close range, the only question would be as to what took Time down first: Rock’s Thunder Beam or his own limits being broken…
Time Man scowled, the overload on his own systems having far gone past critical. He was still in a state of disrepair, and he sincerely tried, but in the end, it wasn’t enough. He didn’t have the power to overcome Mega Man like he wanted, and he didn’t even fully process what damage he had caused before he felt a massive shock course through his systems.
In one second, Time Man’s systems completely shorted out. His core overloaded, several internal components burst and fell apart, his internal clockwork went haywire. His optics shorted out and when dark, not dull like they should’ve. He didn’t hear Mega Man’s taunt, all he knew was that his mission failed.
> DLN-00A OFFLINE. STATUS: CRITICAL. RETURN TO DR. LIGHT IMMEDIATELY.
Saving Time
He had successfully picked up his brother- and set him down on the table again. He turned to pull up a chair for himself, ignoring entirely Time Man’s claims of handling himself for the same reason he always did- because the protective older brother didn’t care. Sitting down, he didn’t touch Time Man again, but his hands were on the table.
Then came the answer.
"…Kalinka? Kalinka Cossack did this-?!” He sounded shocked- and of course he was! Kalinka was a sweet girl! He hung out with her a lot, and she was nothing but the nicest little girl on the planet! He didn’t know her father too well, but from what he understood, Mikhail’s pessimism and cynicism had passed Kalinka entirely. Plus, she was only nine- what nine year old was capable of that kind of brutal mutilation?
But… Kalinka would know how. Her dad was a roboticist. He would’ve taught her things about robots… and she would have easy access to the tools. AND Light Labs’ as well, through the same connection. If she had wanted to do this- she had the capability. Furthermore, Oil Man knew his brother as brutally honest, but still honest…
So he believed him.
"I’m… I’ll have to call up Dr. C, ask if he has any idea where in all heck his daughter’s been… If not him, then one of his ‘bots." Oil Man couldn’t picture Kalinka of all people doing this to his brother. But it was the only lead they had… “…And I’ll have to tell our bros about this, too.”
He took a deep synthetic breath. His eyes were burning somewhat, but he didn’t produce any tears. He did look awfully tired, though- he hadn’t let himself sleep a wink or get a sip of E-tank while waiting for his baby brother to be repaired. He put his hand to his mouth, thinking for a moment.
"Even… even if it ‘ain’t her, it’s a good place to start, right? We’ll figure this out." He couldn’t muster up much reassurance right now, but he tried.
Time Man scowled at his brother's reaction to what he just told him. Of course he wouldn't believe him; Kalinka was the epitome of innocence, she wouldn't hurt anyone, ever! It wasn't like she tormented him for more than an hour and giggled at his agony. He considered just leaving, not wanting to be anywhere near Oil Man currently. If he wouldn't believe him, no one would.
Time Man stopped considering walking out an option when he heard Oil Man speak again. Wait; he was being taken seriously? His brother was going to speak to Dr. Cossack or one of the DCN's about it? He looked at Oil Man in disbelief, yet there was a hint of relief in his expression.
"... Right," Time Man said slowly, sounding more relieved than he had intended. Hopefully they'd figure out what to do with Kalinka, as well as keep her as far away from him as possible.

"Besides exist? Hmm... It might have been the time he tried to get Flare to sing the... Eugh... "Warm Booty" song to Tenor in front of a crowd and have me record it. His attempts to have such a ridiculous song be heard wasn't the worst part; he actually succeeded in his endeavors. I don't know what sort of blackmail he had to get in order to get Flare to sing anything for any length of time, but clearly he didn't think it would work, because he fell over laughing and soon lost his ability to breathe. Recording it was worth it, though - Tenor quickly caught on and proceeded to chase around for the next hour."
A small, sly smile came to his face. "I never gave him that recording."

With that, Time Man released a time slow, working entirely off his emotions. In his fury, he grabbed the anon, opened the window and chucked it out, slamming the window shut. He turned away, choking back a small sob.
The next person to walk into the room would get a time arrow to the face.
