My twin sister’s boyfriend Tre got on my damn nerves whenever he was around. He ate up all our food and was always picking on me and my friends because we’re gay. I was constantly trying to hook my sister up with better dudes, but she was in love with that fool. The thing I hated the most about him was that he was always asking to smoke my weed. I’d share cigarettes and Black & Milds with him all the time, but I was highly stingy when it came to my weed. Not only would he always wanna smoke up my shit, he’d sometimes sneak into my room and smoke my shit while I wasn’t home. That shit had to end or we were gonna end up fighting. Nobody fucks with my weed without consequences.
“I’m just glad my sister out of town,” I said to my friend Evan as we hung out after work at our job’s parking lot. “I won’t have to see that bum ass nigga tonight or over the weekend.”
“Damn, I hear that,” Evan said back. “I bet you’re gonna call Renaldo over.”
I sucked my teeth and replied, “I do not have time for Renaldo’s games tonight, no matter how good that fat uncut Rican dick is.” I laughed as I pulled my lighter from my pocket to light my Black & Mild.
“Kel, you need to stop frontin’ and get serious with Renaldo. That dude really likes you.”
“He likes the way I suck his dick.”
“I think it’s more than that. You give that nigga some ass and I bet he’ll be ready to marry you.”
I laughed out loud and told him, “I’m not givin’ up the ass to that fool. I do that and the next thing I know all his lil’ Rican DL homies are gonna hit me up. You know how them DL dudes talk to each other and share ass with each other.”
“Besides, I’m cool being single right now. I don’t need no…” I was interrupted by my phone ringing. I looked at it and saw it was Tre. “Fuck!”
“Nah, it’s Tre annoying ass.” I ignored the call and said, “Fuck that nigga.”
“Why you be so mean to your sister’s man?”
“Evan, he be calling us fags and shit. Just last week he was making stupid jokes about you, me, Henry and Tae to our faces.”
“Nah, that shit is mad annoying. And then he’s always broke and eating up our shit. When he’s not doing that, he’s smoking up my weed. You know how I feel about my weed.”
“Yeah, but he’s cute. And he must have some bomb dick for your sister to keep his sorry ass around.”
“I don’t talk to her about shit like that and I make sure I’m out of the house whenever they do it.” My phone rang again and once again, it was him. This time I decided to answer, “What the fuck do you want, Tre?”
“Damn shawty, chill,” he said with a laugh on the other end. “I need you to come pick me up.”
“Pick you up? Why would I pick you up? Kendra ain’t here so I don’t have to do shit.”
“Would you chill? Damn. I need a ride from my cousin house.”
“Your cousin don’t have a car?”
“Would I be askin’ you if he did?”
“Kel, come on. Don’t you think I already did that? Why you trippin’?”
“Because Kendra is out of town which means you don’t need to be calling me. Now bye.”
“Hold up, I got gas money.”
“Boy shut up. You know your broke ass don’t have gas money.”
“I do for real. I got fifteen dollars on me right now.”
“I’m already close to home so…”
“Please, Kel. It’s gonna take me over an hour if I walk all the way to my mama’s house. Come on, bruh.”
“So now I’m your bruh? I thought I was a fag or whatever else you call me on the regular.”
“Man, those are jokes. I’m serious now, Kel. Please.”
I thought about it for a few seconds and then told him, “Alright. Where are you at?”
“I’ll text you the address after we get off the phone. Thanks, Kel. I owe you.”
“Mmm hmm, whatever. You better have that gas money, too.” I hung up on him and a few seconds later, he texted me the address.
“I guess that means I’ll see you later,” Evan told me with a smile.
“Yeah.” I shook my head as I said, “Aggravating ass nigga. Don’t make no sense.”
After making plans to hang out with Evan the next day since we didn’t have to work, I got in my car and headed to Tre’s cousin’s house. I’d already worked eight hours and was hungry and tired, so Tre was gonna have to put up with my attitude. I couldn’t believe he’d called me for a ride. I hated it when people treat you like shit and then expect you to help them out as if they haven’t been treating you like shit. When I got to his cousin’s house, I honked the horn like ten times because he was taking forever. Finally, he stepped outside and waved to his cousin and friends before jumping off the porch and running to my car. He only had on a pair of basketball shorts and some flip-flops.
