🧡Sweet mother, I cannot weave…🧡 My full drawing of Anglo-Saxon era lesbians for We've Always Been Here artbook along with a look at the progress. (Digital sketch & pencil drawing)
Shout out to all the #loomheads who are liking this piece. I tried very hard in my research to make it a decent depiction so these tags both make me laugh & very pleased!
Since a few people have asked me this in a couple of places, I thought i'd answer -
It's not available as a print right now but it will be later in the year, likely October! Sorry for the wait but due to the contract of the art book this is for, I'm not allowed to sell prints/merch etc of the piece until 6 months after the Kickstarter campaign.
TLDR; Please do keep an eye out for a print announcement in October!

imperialist sports and their impact
football: reappropriated globally, provides the world a reasonable way to repeatedly humiliate britain publically
cricket: not a reliable way to humiliate britain so you only play this one if you actually like it, pervert
baseball: japan and cuba have, together, managed to derive some pleasure from the horrific tormentor that is the united states. can we blame them for that? can we blame them for romance and love in this world
I can’t find the original post (or maybe you never made it IDK and I’m imagining it) but I thought you once posted about how one of your characters was designed to be like someone who was once on testosterone, but no longer is. I just wanted to say that (being in that same boat) it’s really really nice. Your art inspires me to be more bold in my stories with their themes, and makes me feel warm to see other trans bodies drawn with such care and love. Thank you for all of the art you make (written or drawn), from freaky fairies, gay plague healers, to toxic repressed step-brothers.

that's taelle'teth <3 i've mentioned it in some odd places, i know on bsky for sure. but yes he was made for that purpose, after i had to stop taking T and needed a way to cope with that. so i'm always referencing photos of my own body whenever i draw him (except he kept more chest hair than i did, because i couldn't resist). and i can confidently say that making him, drawing him, loving him - really helped me a lot back then. and still does. guys like us deserve to be boldy seen and cared for and i hope my art continues to speak to that.
If you're thinking about moving on from Spotify, I can't recommend enough getting into modern MP3 players (more properly called digital audio players, or DAPs, since these days they play more file types than just MP3) and building your own music library.
There's been a massive amount of innovation in the lower end of DAPs, and you can get a lot for under $100. Here are the main ones I recommend:
Snowsky Echo Mini - This is the most affordable one, at only $65 CAD (I think it's even less in the US) and the one that I ended up buying. Designed to look like a cassette player. The main drawback is that the interface is slightly unintuitive and it doesn't have a touch screen, but I've been delighted with mine.
Hiby R1 - This goes for $85 USD, and is the most widely recommended of the bunch for its friendly UI and wide range of utilities. Has a touchscreen and buttons.
Tempotec V1 - Similar to the Hiby R1, although the specific features are slightly different. Also has a touchscreen and buttons. Price is comparable with the Hiby.
Innioasis R1 (honourable mention) - Designed to look nearly identical to an iPod Classic, including a fully functional clickwheel. The sound quality on this is notably worse than the other DAPs I listed above, and the Bluetooth is widely reported to be unreliable, but I have to include it for people who want an iPod again (and don't want to shell out $300+ for a modernized Classic) and because it has an extremely active modding scene. Price is comparable with the Echo Mini.
You will need to buy a microSD card to upgrade the storage of most of these, but these days you can get 250GB for under $20.
Just an update on this - as someone with a large music library (~200 GB), the Echo Mini ended up being not at all suited to my needs, and although I was very happy with it at first, it became increasingly frustrating to use. It’s built for more casual listeners with small libraries.
I ended up giving it away as a gift and getting a Hiby R1 instead, which has been a much smoother experience, with far more basic functions than the Echo Mini - so I’m going to add my voice to the chorus saying that it’s the best low budget/starter DAP for anyone who wants to get into them.
Also, annoyingly, the price of storage has gone way up since I made this post.
