To speak is to risk misinterpretation— but to be silent is worse still.
"The owner of the 'Read Miller' bookstore is an interesting figure. He's a recent expat from Fontaine. Such people tend to take time adapting to the local culture, and yet he seems to have settled in quite well."
"At the very least, he's taken the constant thefts from his store in stride. The children do appear to enjoy earning their pocket money, tracking down and taking back the filched items. There are whispers about who he was before coming here, but most who come to Nod-Krai tend to do so in hopes of escape their past, and so I shall refrain from repeating them."
— Lightkeeper Kyryll Chudomirovich Flins, upon being questioned on the store in the center of Nasha Town.

In the center of Nasha Town, just a few paces from the Adventurers' Guild, resides the 'Read Miller' bookstore.
When it first opened, the residents of Nod-Krai scoffed. "Don't they know we're all scrounging for money?" "Another foreigner, looking to make an easy buck off us." "Just ignore them, and they'll be gone 'fore the month is up."
The months passed, and Read Miller never closed its doors. The locals softened, and it soon became a treasured piece of Nasha Town culture.
Inside, though, it's far more of a library than a bookstore. For one, it lacks the little trinkets many stores have taken to selling in hopes of enticing less book-savvy customers to visit. For another, there are seats and tables shoved everywhere they fit and everywhere they don't, providing excellent spots to sit and try out a book for as long as you like.
The man behind the counter doesn't have the countenance of the typical bookstore owner. It isn't quite that of a librarian, either. He seems far more interested in giving you his own recommendations than listening to your requests.
His employees don't quite fit the typical mold, either: street children of all ages scurry about the store, carrying orders and restocking shelves, chatting amongst themselves at a volume rarely found in either bookstores or libraries.
Rene never tells them to quiet, though, and so customers resign themselves to the chaos.
It's not a typical bookstore, but Nod-Krai isn't a typical place.
"Huh? You want a book like The Good Thing About Being Reincarnated as a Hilichurl Is That I Only Need to Eat Sunsettias to Become Stronger? No, I don't carry anything that sloppish in this shop. I'd be happy to recommend you something that won't rot your brain to the abyss. How about Maawe and Monetoo? That has a compelling... Huh? How can I judge without reading it? Well, of course I've read it— how could I accurately judge it, otherwise?"

Shipping Sol Badguy with anyone other than Happy Chaos, I-No, Nagoriyuki, Justice, Raven, probably Izuna, Slayer, or probably Chimaki is problematic because of the 150+ year age gap and in this essay I will —
Shipping Robo-Ky and Sin with anybody other than each other is problematic because they're the only two characters that are 5-7 years old yet have the minds and bodies of adults
Interest check for a collaborative Guilty Gear copybook zine I've been thinking about doing for next year
A copybook is any book made using a photocopier/Xerox or low budget printer instead of paying a printer service to produce the book. Most traditional zines are copybooks and are generally only printed with black ink and no color. Copybooks are extremely affordable to produce compared to books manufactured through professional printer services and can be made at home or at a library.
The form includes questions as to what the theme for it may be, color or black & white printing, whether people would buy one, how many people would contribute to it, and some other stuff. This project is still in the zygote stages of planning but if anyone has any questions about it feel free to send an ask or something about it

If this copybook collaborative zine becomes a reality, it won't be until 2026. This form is just to help me decide on how it may be done so I can plan for it.
Doing funny tier lists and such like who’s most trans to cis for GG characters has become a favored pastime of mine since I got my non FG friends into the lore(shoutouts to the one who beat me in line a FT10 or whatever it was you know who you are hats off to you)
One that’s a work in progress has been an alignment chart, left-to-right is prep to goth and top-to-bottom is jock to nerd. We had a debate about where Jack-O' should land.
I argued she should lean closer to prep, TLDR basically because of her girlypop theme and the scientist Aria qualities she inherited. They basically argued being the Halloween character inherently makes you more goth than prep. Wanted to ask where you land. Thanks.
Hello ᓚᘏᗢ hope you're doing well as well.
Thanks for your patience in response; I shelved this to respond to later in more detail. and got avalanched, lol.
Onto the fun stuff: I agree with you! While Jack-o has a jack-o-lantern faced ball and chain, and of course her name, that's not enough to cancel out everything else about her.
As you say, Jack-o has a lot of prep aspects about her. While I'd argue intelligence doesn't inherently factor into those classifications provided (one can be intelligent and refuse to study; one can have difficulties retaining information and study frequently), her consistent usage of her knowledge (that inherited from Aria, inherited from Asuka, and gained as she explored her own life) reflect that knowledge and learning are important aspects for her.
(Her girlypop theme does, of course, heavily weigh the scale in favor of prep)
I think Jack-o would love Halloween, and if she had the time, space, and materials, she would go all out for her costume. But Halloween-lovin' does not make a goth, and the rest of the year she's committing rigorously scientific experiments on how long she can trim two millimeters of Sol's hair every night before he notices.
Funny tier lists are my jam. If you ever finished it, I'd love to see it.
Wilardo doesn’t remember if he’s ever done anything for fun.
He’s had fun, yeah, had it sneak up on him and wrap around him so slowly he sometimes didn’t realize he was having it until long after. But seeking it out? Doing something where the only benefit is enjoying himself?
He’s not sure if he’s ever done that.

Wilardo's birthday fic. I had it finished over a week ago, but I kept forgetting to post it...

I was going to do a compilation of Justices I've drawn in public places over the last two years to celebrate the anniversary of my getting into Guilty Gear, but it turns out I've never recorded said drawings. This one was taken by a friend.
