I was given Sugarbubblesnuggleicetea~ for valentines. I absolutely adore him n_n <3 I have started a collection, I'm onto my sixth!!

as you probably (should) know from now, im an avid plush collector so im pretty keen on bootlegs. if theres something ive learned from plush collecting its that, if youre not sure if its legit, the tags will probably tell the story for you

from my experience this is how it goes with alpacas:

(brand new) legit:

3 tags

all attached to tush tag

(not shown in pictures) QR code is pictured on the top tag that says alpacasso

bootleg

1 tag

either tagged on wrong spot of the body, or alone on tush tag

(not shown in pictures) difference of colours compared to original tag (i couldnt give an example of this cause i dont have a legit and a bootleg or the same model alpaca but try google maybe)

is it frowned upon to remove/not keep the tags? why are the tags so special?

I don't know if it frowned upon  to remove the tags but if I had to offer my own theory as to why tags are important, I'd give you the example of Beanie Babies. Beanie Babies tags were crucial to retaining their value! Even damage to the tag would diminish the value and there were even speical holders for the tag so it wouldn't bend! 

Broken or missing tags gives us insight as to how the plushie was treated. It was played with, maybe roughly and the owner didn't care for it as much. I think the tag are more important on bigger Arpakasso than small ones. The tag also lets us know what series it's from, when it was created and it isn't a conterfeit.
