you know, i really needed this simple ask, lovely anon! i am not doing that great today and the fact that a stranger wants to know how i am almost brought tears to my eyes. and i am not even on my period! here’s a small vent:

it’s a weird realizing you’ve somehow been standing in the same place for years. i’m nearing my thirties and i’ve never stepped foot on a plane. i’ve never had a real relationship. i’ve never gone on an actual vacation. i’ve barely traveled at all, let alone gotten to experience the things i love in real life. love, races, places i’ve dreamed about, all of it still feels like it’s happening behind a screen. and the frustrating part is that i’m trying. i’m studying, i’m working, i’m doing everything you’re supposed to do to eventually build a life. but somehow i’m still broke, and every goal feels like it’s moving further away the closer i get. and i am still stuck in my hometown. sometimes it feels like everyone else is collecting memories while i’m collecting “maybe next year.” i know life isn’t a competition. i know people reach goals at different times. i know all that. but every now and then i can’t help wondering what it feels like to have things just… happen. <3
